Dark Lane Anthology: Volume One Paperback – Box set, February 25, 2014

Stephen King once described a short story as like a kiss in the dark. It's sudden, and it's brief, and it's sweet, and then it's over. Each story in this collection is like a kiss in the dark. There's a wide variety of styles, themes and tones, and so I think most people will have a story they really like, but some stories they won't like at all.There are some small typos in some of the stories, but otherwise the collection was good.Considering that the kindle version only costs slightly more than a dollar, it was more than worth the price.

This is a pretty weird anthology and the stories cover quite the gamut. I laughed, I cringed, I got a bit bored by some of the stories but overall it is a good batch and worth the time investment. Formatting was a bit off like a lot of the zine anthologies here on kindle but it was easy to fix to be okay.

I purchased this book to support a friend who had a story in it. (Fortunately, I can honestly say that his was one of the best in it.) As (almost) always with an anthology, it is a mixed bag, but in this case I can honestly say that there is more good than bad. Some of the stories are creepy, some are funny; some are sci-fi, some are fantasy, some are horror; some were short and sweet, and others left me confused. For the price of the ebook, it's definitely worth a look.P.S. The art is also great!
