tough day on the mountain
we have used Lucky Bum Ski Wedge in the past - with quite a lot of success. However, this time, the conditions were wet, and raininy - and not really a ski weekened... but we went anyway. we had a really hard time tightening this product enough to overcome the set slippery conditions. They kept sliding off the ski tips. in those conditions, I was really wishing that it had a larger handle for tightening the screw. I don't know that it's a defect in the product, or just that we were using it in undesirable conditions... either way, at the end of the day we had given up trying to put these on.

Best Wedge Helper
This was the first wedge tip holder I bought and it's definitely the best of the three that I've tried. I bought the Edgie Wedgie for a friend, and a velco one came with a harness I bought. I liked the Lucky Bums the best because it seemed to be the sturdiest; I liked that it was made of elasticized cord rather than just tubing. While it might not be the case, the Edgie's tubing seemed like it would come off whereas the Lucky Bums' band seems firmly attached to the clamps. The clamps on the Lucky Bums Easy Wedge are also slightly wider and fit a wider variety of skis. We actually had a pair of skis that the Edgie Wedgie's clamp was too small for. Overall, I'm very pleased with the Easy Wedge. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and rarely comes off the skis; when it does come off, it's very easy to reattach. I feel bad that I purchased another brand for my friend as I thought they were pretty much the same but they're definitely not!

work ok
As a ski instructor I bought this and the clamp on style as well. This tool works and is wide spread among the instructors I know. I found it was hard to keep on my students skis as they walked after a run. One end would come loose. It was difficult to re apply with cold fingers. It did mar the tops of skis that I had to tighten it real tight on. A couple times I had to resort to pliers to loosen it to remove an end. Compare with a vise grip style clamp version before you make a purchase.

Broke first try - Good customer service
I have owned the Edgie Wedgie in the past and it lasted a long time, it was showing sign of wearing out. So I bought this brand based on reviews saying it fit better on todays skis. I was putting on my son's skis and the plastic snapped. I was less than thrilled/ Luckily still had old one. After contacting Lucky Bums I got an immediate response and replacement. Much appreciated.

First time I've used this product.
Expecting the wedge to work all day long without much maintenance. It came apart right away and I had to adjust a lot. I gave up at some point. Will not use again but will hand off to friends/relatives to try.

A "MUST" for all Kids Learning to Ski!
If you are going to teach children to ski, you will need one of these, as they are as essential as the skis themselves. Both kids have learned to ski with these and they make keeping your "pie wedge" or "snowplow" easy and learning fun. Not to say they won't cross their skis once in a while or wipe out, but it is night and day compared to trying to do this without the strap. It gives kids a lot of confidence and helps them to learn the stance/muscle memory for a fun day on the slopes.

Would not stay on
Would not stay on the ski tips no matter how much I tightened

Worked well
Used it to teach my 3 y.o. how to ski. Worked well. It was the length we needed. However, for some people it might not be. This one was constructed with a shock cord between the two clamps, so the length of the cord is not adjustable (some models use a small diameter hose that you could shorten up). I suppose you could make a knot in it to shorten it up.We would buy again.
