I just read “Gloria Never Fades” and enjoyed it very much! Gloria is such an engaging, sympathetic and inspiring main character. Although readers may not share the unimaginable background she endured, they certainly could view her as a role model of strength and determination. I thought the book’s messages about and examples of the effectiveness of therapy, meditation, journaling and breathing techniques, as well as accepting help from others, could easily encourage readers to employ these techniques in their own lives. The author is a practicing therapist who has drawn from her professional experience to write this novel, so it has a solid base. Yes, I recommend this book.

Let me start by saying , this book never bored me. It’s a compelling story about a girl, Gloria, who has a horrific childhood of neglect, abuse, poverty, drugs, and violence. Her mother spent her days in a drunken stupor, unable to hear her daughters desperate cries for help. Gloria is alone with no one until, through unforeseen circumstances, she finds herself in the care of a therapist. She trusts no one, but gradually, she begins to open up and trust him.The story follows Gloria through her young adult years , as she, with the help of therapists and friends,, is gradually able to let go of her past..What sets this book apart from your typical rags to riches story, is it’s authenticity. Written by a woman with 35 years as a professional therapist, it is clear that she had first hand experience from which to draw.Yes, I recommend this book!

I am glad to have read this book. It was an uplifting and inspiring journey through life's moments of raw despair and hardship; but filled with such hope and love. The story is easy to follow and has many surprises. The author made the characters relatable, and wrote in a way that allowed the reader to feel as if watching a movie. This story will leave you feeling empowered. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a book that is hard to put down!

This novel delivers a compelling story of a young woman and her resiliency in the face of daunting obstacles and traumas. These obstacles include sexual abuse, emotional abuse, struggles with a drug addicted partner and the list goes on. I liked the fact that the story is fast moving. Chapters are short and the narrative never lags. It's a feel good read

I read the novel in one sitting! The writing style is captivating and the story is the story of all of us. Many of the events in the book reflect our travel through life. The story of Gloria could easily be the story of all of us.

This book touched my heart like no other novel. It’s a story centered on a young woman born into poverty with abusive parents. Gloria triumphs over her family hardships and is able to leave home to seek a better way if life. She forms relationships with people who become her new foundation enabling her to realize her dreams for happiness. I urge everyone to read this book and experience Gloria’s transition from a young girl born into poverty to a woman who reversed her lot in life.

This story is so reflective of the human spirit. Upon first meeting Gloria her situation is so dire that it seems completely overwhelming. But then something so unexpected happens....The author is a great storyteller!
