It brings the awning in with less wind speed than the old one but not real all an issue. Works well.

Easy to install.

The first one was the original sensor and lasted over 11 years until i hit an overhead object which proves we are aware and on the look out!!!!!! This one went bad while traveling down highway 10 from Florida to AZ 3 days ago. I looked up at a rest stop and could not believe what i saw. I have notified the seller TODAY and will leave a FAIR update on how this is handled for all to review on how this seller handles DEFECTIVE PRODUCT PROBLEMS. "THESE ARE NOT CHEAP TO BUY!!!!! Well THEY DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THIS SOOOOOOOOOO💩 They are a no buy rating for the future 👎🏼 Run away from this seller. Hope this helps all.

This is so overpriced for what it is. I replaced mine and tested and it worked once initially. But so cheaply made the bearing didn't even spin straight (had a wobble from day 1 out of the box). After being in high winds and bringing the awning in manually, I've tested again and it is not retracting the awning at all within months of spending all this money on the unit. Very disappointing. Would recommend buying from Girard at least so you have some recourse. I'm just out $162+ and still don't have a working retract for the awning in high wind due to this cheaply made, overpriced unit. I might consider the motion sensor option instead of the anemometer.

This product is very poorly made only matched by the very poor customer service from Girard! Lasted one trip in our RV! When company was contacted they agreed to replace at no charge. An hour later a second email retracted their offer.DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

The spinner that catches the wind decided to separate itself from the unit. Of course it seems like the spinner can’t be purchased by itself. Cheap faulty product.
