Amazing Detail
This is my first set of higher quality headphones and I'm in awe. Before I decided on these headphones I did countless hours of research trying to find the perfect headphones for me.My search criteria were as follows: Comfort: for day long use Longevity: poor college students can't buy new cans very often Detail: who doesn't want great detail in their songs or games? No Over The Top Bass: I don't care for skull rattling bass that over powers everything else Flat Equalizer: I want to be able to listen to things how the producer intended Easy to Drive: I don't have a budget for a good amp (maybe one day though)In the reviews and forums these headphones killed it in every aspect I wanted. Although, I have found a lot of complaints about certain things with these headphones so I wanted to share my findings and personal opinions. The first pair I purchased arrived on time and they were on sale. They came in a white plastic package(yes, this is important) I plugged them in right away to my phone and started listening. from the start the detail was incredible. I could hear every cymbal and drum and tell them apart from each other, although it was a bit piercing and the bass was very faint. Once I got them home and plugged into my computer I played with the EQ to drop the highs and raise the lows. After about an hour of use the right ear cut out completely, I unplugged from my computer and tried my phone again. Still dead. I let them sit for ten minutes and they started working again. This went on for a few days of the right ear randomly cutting out. After about 24 hours of use the highs weren't piercing and the lows were more prominent. I readjusted my EQ to be flat and the headphones were amazing. I could hear the highs, mids, and lows perfectly. All working together, and none over powering the others. Skyrim was a whole new experience with these cans. After a week had passed the right ear problem was getting worse and happening more often. It got to the point where the right ear would either be real quiet or not working. So I returned them and decided to buy another pair because I was in love with the detail and flat EQ.The second pair I received came in a slightly different box and clear plastic packaging. From what I read in the forums everyone with clear packaging had nothing bad to say and some people with the white packaging had problems. From the start the new ones have great bass and no piercing highs. They already sound better than the first ones after being burned in.If you are wanting headphones that rattle your head with bass and overpower everything else look elsewhere. I'm not saying these cans don't have bass they just don't punch you with it. The bass is clear and detailed and is how the producer intended. If you decide on these headphones you will be sucked into every song, game, or movie you are listening to. The comfort, detail and price will not disappoint you. If you do get the white packaging it doesn't mean they are going to suck and if you get the clear packaging you could still have issues. Some products fail and that's how it is. If you find the highs to piercing and the lows to quiet then adjust your EQ and let them burn in, they will get better, you have a month to decide before the amazon warranty is up.TL;DR The detail is above anything I expected for the price range. The EQ is super flat. I can wear them for hours without discomfort. You don't need an amp to power these.

... of day of use i can say they are great in all aspects but the upper head cushion So ...
with just a couple of day of use i can say they are great in all aspects but the upper head cushionSo far i hear what i wanted to hear, i use them to play guitar with backup tracks (phone and tascam guitar trainer), so far i have only use them tru a multiefect pedal and a guitar amp, with the backup track on the aux input and i get what i want, to hear, my playing!!!!, i guess using them tru the guitar trainer with the backup tracks should work better since that was my experience with other headphones.have not try them much to only listen music, but i guess they will be very good, but i don't think they'll sound like if you have a pair of subs on your head, so if your into bass heavy music, maybe they are not for you, however if you can give them a try, maybe the loudness of the bass is not all there but the detail is good, for my prefference (Classic rock, 80's Heavy Metal) they're just great.the noise isolation is very good, the fitting is comfortable, but i'm getting used to the pads on top, all my other headphones lack this so is just something i'm not use to haveI hear them as flat headphones with litle coloration as is repeated in some reviews, not bass heavy, a Little pronounced mids, but i would say just a bit, which is good for what i want them (mainly guitar monitoring with backing tracks), i redescovered some of my favorite songs these past days since i've been using earbuds for some time listening to music on my pone (with max quality MP files)They're lite, but with a firm fit, other headphones i have had are light with a light fit and as son as you turn your head rapidly, you feel they are going to fly away, not this ones.On some reviews they say the cable lenght is an inconvenience, well i would think that if you want them for portable use, it will be, since the cable is long, for my purpose (sitting down or standing up use) i think they're ok, i was used to have coiled cable and was worried i was going to miss it, not at all, the cable connection at the HP seems sturdy, i will not be attaching dettaching the cable regularly so i guess it should not be an issue, maybe keep an eye on the dust, etc could be good, but the way that the connector inserts into the headphone i think will keep dust out, the issue could be moisture, time will tell.Comparing to other HP... The other ones that i have had that i think are really good in sound are Yamaha RH seriers (foldable), they have a very good sound, but i think poor built for what i want them (i take care of my gear, but they should stand the rigours of band practice sometimes), AKG k44, great sound that lasted for like a monthe before one driver going dead, sony pro headphones from the 80's, great paper cone HP, only reason they are retired now is, they are really old, the cable finally got messed up, the cushions are unbearable now, sound was great (they were working 10 years ago since the 80's with great sound, believe it or not), sony 7506 which have a very similar sound, flat! with great build but feel a Little loose on the head, i would say they are my reference today for which i'm measuring agaings my new KRK, i can hear my KRK will be the favorite ones after the break in period for having a "flat" sound, with a bit of mids .hope this helps

Very Happy
I received the headphones in good condition and in a very short time. As a newby in the music recording world, I have no other product to compare these headphones, however I can say that they work very well for me. Good sound and comfort. Good value for the money.

Well made, high performance studio headphones.
This is my second set of KRK's. Excellent, high end headphones. I use for a lot of video voice over for my channel. I didn't want headphones that added extra bass but were better suited for recording and keeping objective highs and lows. Crisp sound and I can hear details I didn't notice before with my old headphones. Also, one of the few over ear, studio headphones that doesn't squeeze my head. Comfortable and well made.
