I have ordered several of these hedgehogs for our Golden Retriever over the years. Both the small size and the big. He loves these guys so much and the chattering is his favorite :)They seem to hold up well, but he plays with them avidly so with normal wear and tear he he needs new every once in a while. Ordered him both a new big and small for Christmas but unfortunately the big ones voicebox did not work when he unwrapped it, but the small one does chatter and he hasn't put his new baby down since. So impressed with his love for these that I plan to reorder a large one when and if they become available again, in hopes that it will have a fully functional voice box. We've purchased these little hedgehogs from a national retail store for our little Lhasa for about 6 years, I didn't think they were made by the same manufacturer because these were such poor quality compared to the others. Imagine my surprise when I went to the national retail website and I found the same toy, but ever so slightly different. The "fur-like" fabric on the two we just received was thin and I could see my dog getting pieces of it stuck in his throat. Then I was curious because I was sure I had ordered this same toy from amazon in the past, and I had. I put the old and the new together and there was a significant quality difference. The fabric used on all parts of these stuffed hedgehogs was unsatisfactory,Immediately after giving the hedgehog to my Lhasa a seam opened. This was a matter of minutes. My husband thought I dropped something. When he handed it to me I was confused. I asked what it was, he said he didn't know, he thought it was mine. I pressed on it, and it was the cute little hedgehog noise.With the others we've purchased of these we've never had any seam ripping. It also took us quite a while to find the "voice box" I thought, how's the dog going to be able to figure it out when we can't. Well he found it all right. He could have easily swallowed that piece that fell on the floor.The other thing, and this is the topper. The one you can purchase at the national "get anything for your home" retailer sells for just under five dollars, and it's a bit larger than the two we received. We figured we'd spend $5.60 because we didn't have to ruin the environment by driving to the Supermall for a dog toy. So, I've realized that I can go to this retailer, check the quality and spend less.Let me also say, non of this is by any means amazon's doing.Since this manufacturer sells these everywhere, they probably just started using cheaper material so they can make more money or these are from a bad batch? Did they run out of the "Good material so had to use the "backup", maybe the seam ripped open after a few minutes of play time because someone "new" is doing the sewing? They are just putting our furry family members at risk. What if the "voice box" was on the floor but this time a baby put it in their mouth? They could easily choke on it.Again. we've been buying these for years (the hedgehog's voice box doesn't last long) and this is the first time I've had a problem because I always check out the "squeaker" and make sure it's up high where others haven't been wearing it out.In the pictures, the two lighter colored Hedgehogs are the new ones, and the ones in the rear are probably a year old. The year old guys have short thick plush where the just purchased ones the "fur" is thin scraggly and matted. The older HH's look better than the brand new ones. What happened Pet Qwerks?

I bought this for my elderly little dog; thought it might give him some fun.It's too big for him, so I returned it.The real story is how gracious this company is. No argument, no hoops to jump throughPut the the price right back on my Amazon account.And. It's a really cute and cuddly toy--wish he could have played with it.

My dogs loved these toys! I have 2 Scotties and usually they love to chew up their toys to get the squeakers out, but not these. They love the cute sounds it makes that is so much different than just a squeaky toy. They love just carrying them around. I think I am going to get a couple more and hide them away because if these break, there will be crying and whining dogs in this house.

My dogs love this toy! The only problem is the sound mechanism doesn’t last. It broke quickly after they started playing with it, but they still play with it.

I bought this for her 2 years ago and I have purchased 2 new identical hedgehog toys for her, but she only wants her dirty, bedraggled "Hedgie" and ignores the new ones. It's the first thing she grabs when she wakes up in the morning and her best friend to share with me to throw. Even though it's sorta pitiful looking, it has held together and still makes noise. Great toy!

Smaller than expected but turns out to be a perfect size for my furbaby. He like to carry it around and loves playing with it. The sound is fun and quiet enough for us but loud enough for him to enjoy.

My dog loves it

I got this for my 5lbs chihuahua because he loves crinkle toys. This toy has a hole in the middle and can be used a puzzle toy. This keeps my dog busy and it's one of his favourite toys. It's made out of canvas so it pretty durable especially if your dog likes to dig at his toys.
