Absolute Home Run!
Schrade really hit a home run with this one folks!PROS:1. Came with a sharp edge right out of the box.2. G10 handle scales are great quality and well molded to accommodate a comfortable grip so you don't get hot spots during hard extended use.3. The stone wash blade finish is very classy looking. I'm a big fan!4. This knife is a home-run for value vs. quality at a $30 price tag.5. Handle jimping is nicely done and not overly aggressive so as to cause blisters during hard use.6. Blade is a good overall size being about 4" which is a great general bushcrafting size.7. The taller blade (from edge to spine) makes batonning a bit easier to make deeper cuts when compared to the short blade hight of a typical Mora.8. I really like how the spine is flat ground all the way to the point. Yup! I said all the way to the point. I was nervous about that considering that the blade appears to have a swedge in the pictures, but Schrade did a good job at keeping the spine stock thick and at a nice flat 90 degree bevel so your baton won't get chewed up when striking the spine.9. The full-tang construction of this knife is just what you need in a good strong bush knife!10. The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel isn't such a bad choice as it provides good protection against rust and it also keeps the price of the knife down. This also is a pretty decent quality steel as well! Just make sure you bring a sharpener with you on extended periods of travel into the woods because I've heard that this steel will dull a bit faster than some higher grades of steel.11. I don't know how Schrade managed to do it, but the sheath is excellent! One of my favorites! Great retention, no rattle, and a host of different carry options makes this sheath a home run!CONS:As of right now, I haven't been able to find any. I will update this review if I happen to find any faults though.

Good knife
Great knife. I really like the new products Schrade is putting out. 2 issues: 1 There were a few SMALL spots of rust on the knifes edge but it seemed to clean off easily. 2 The back of the spine isn't quite 90 degrees so it doesn't throw sparks from a ferro rod as well as I had hoped. The edge seems like it's fairly easy to sharpen and hold an edge. The sheath holds the knife well, but with a "rattle". The handle has few "hot spots" My biggest issue is with the belt "clip" There aren't any options on were to put it, meaning no extra holes. Feel like it was a last minute idea. Seems like it might ride high when worn on the hip, which might be unconformable. I have not taken it into the woods yet so I can't say personally how it preforms. Overall good knife

Good knife bad sheath
Very good design for a work knife. The knife is built well. Finish is very good for a low price knife. My knife arrived a bit dull. But a few passes on the strop and it is very sharp. It is very comfortable, ergonomic and fits well in my hand. A little on the heavy side, but being a work knife it gives it an advantage. Now the sheath is the complete opposite. The sheath is just plain junk. I couldn't take the knife out of it. I had to use my heat gun to re-shape it. It works now, but it is still a junky cheap plastic sheath. It will not last long. Too bad they messed up the sheath and they just did not complete the sharpening on the knife. If this knife would have arrived sharp with a decent sheath it would be a 5 star rating. I would recommend it if you plan to get a new sheath for it.

Another goodie from Schrade
OK, lets get the numbers out of the way, blade 3 11/16" from handle to tip, handle 4 3/4",blade thickness 5/32",blade width approx. 1 5/16" spine to belly, G10 black scales attached by two screws and a nice lanyard hole. The blade is hollow ground with a stone washed finish(someone say jeans?)All measurements are approximations!#1;Fit and Finish; the grind on the blade is excellent, even on both sides, the false edge on the spine makes the knife a good fighting tip yet there is enough steel at the point so digging into wood should be no problem. The jimmping on the tang is well possitioned and not to aggressive feels good and the G10 handles mate up perfectly to the metal with no gaps and the G10 feels great in the hand(wish they were tan micarta I get real tired of knife makers putting everything in black)just me!.the overall appearance of the knife is a 10 the stonewashed finish looks great! don't know how it will hold up? This is a very stout knife very similer to the Gerber Profile but heavyer. The Schf13 feels better in the hand to me ,I like the weight! If Schrade would make this 1/4" thick it would be perfect. The edge was shaving sharp out of the box and it will make an excellent bushcraft camp knife. The sheath is a kydex type material and the knife fits snug and locks in well the belt loop attachment is OK but looks like a haphazard afterthought, I will be replacing the belt loop with a mollie clip. All in All another great knife from Schrade(GOOD JOB) Just a note; the Schf14 has a gerber profile style blade AND the Schf11 and 12 have Tanto style blades any of these should work well for you! Just remember you don't have to spend $100 and up to get a good knife you just have to know what your looking at! I found a 13"OA 8" blade knife for $20.00 and have been testing it against my Becker companion,Ontario Ranger bush 8" and my Condor Varan 8" and for 6 months its holding its own! When I get done I'll do a review on it, so far its equal to the others,HAVE FUN AND BE PREPARED THESE SCHRADES WILL HELP YOU DO THAT!!

Worth the money
Received exactly when it was estimated to arrive. A perfect bushcraft tool. I like the kydex sheath and was even able to attach my small Arkansas stone with some plastic zip ties. I only gave it a four star because it wasn't very sharp out of the box. Since the blade is stainless, it took quite a while to get a razor edge. Of course, the quality is great and it is a very robust knife. The handle is very ergonomic and the full tang blade is beefy. This will be my go to knife.

Works for me.
Gotta say I wasn’t expecting much for the price, but I was totally surprised. Fits perfect to my hand. Has a nice heft to it. The sheath locks the blade in snuggle and securely. Came sharp. Like the non- reflective blade and handle . Only thing I could complain about is when wearing horizontal it hangs lower than I like. Other than that, for me, it meets all my expectations.

Will make a good edc but i wont be taking into the back ...
It's what you'd expect for the price. Will make a good edc but i wont be taking into the back country. Seems robust for the money but I knocked a star off because it arrived dull as dog s***.

Ok for the price
bought this knife as a gift..... Of course I had to check it out before I wraped it! For the price of this knife it's probably not a bad buy. The steel is ok, I belive its the same as what's used insome of the less expensive spyderco knives I own. It did not arrive all that sharp, but it took an edge fairly well after sharpening. The sheath is ok, knife is a bit looser than it should be, but again for the price it's acceptable. My biggest complaint about this knife is the handle scales; the edges are sharps and the bolt heads that fasten the scales to the tang are proud of the scales. I found handle to be very uncomfortable. I do think however that this could be easily cured with some sandpaper or a Dremel tool to soften the edges. As this was a gift, I wasn't about to do that myself. If the scales had been better I would have gave this another star. For the money, probably a good knife. Want a better knife? Spend more money!
