GOATED GAMING HEADSET
i straight up never write reviews, but this headset is so godly that i had to drop some knowledge. i've had it for almost 2 years now, and it still performs as if it's brand new. the sound quality + bass is crisp---better than my friend's $200 sony headphones. the mic quality is good too. it's obviously not on the same level as a professional mic set, but it's definitely better than average. these headphones also have a really good battery life. you can use them for 2 days straight without charging and they'll still work great. plus, they're super comfortable and lightweight. not once have i ever had an issue with them squeezing my head or hurting my ears. i went through 3 headsets in 2 years prior to owning these, and they always developed the same issues: mic would glitch out for a bit and then stop working all together, sound quality would deplete, and the battery life tanked within a few months. these hyperx headphones, however, as i mentioned above, still work amazing almost 2 years after constant use. they're INSANELY good quality, even without taking the price into consideration. but with the fact that they're under $40, this is a FIRE, GOD-TIER deal. highly recommended! and thank you to my overlord hyperx for concocting this precious beauty. i think i would have exploded and died without them. i love you hyperx. (not to glaze tho)

Surprisingly good, reliable headset for under $80 (PC only)
PROs: + Audio quality is surprisingly good all-around, for music, movies, gaming, and Zoom meetings + Relatively affordable compared to some gaming headsets you might need to take loan out to afford + Flip-to-mute mic is clear and captures audio decently + Onboard controls are intuitively laid out + Lightweight and comfortable to use all day + Subtle look is suitable for an office environment + USB-C connector charges the headset quickly CONs: - NGenuity software is Windows-only so limits the usefulness of the headset - Software leaves a lot to be desired - USB dongle required so it will take up a USB port - No Bluetooth support - Limited to 16-bit 48khz audio - No EQ to adjust audio - Shuts off after 10 minutes with no audio (and no ability to change this) - DTS:X support is either a trial or limited basis (couldn't get mine to activate the DTS:X license) - HyperX support is terrible, so don't expect help if you need it A decent headset with good audio and some annoying limitations that aren't enough for me to dock it a star. The price is good, especially if you can find it discounted closer to $50. While not an audiophile-quality headset, the sound it does put out is surprisingly good across the board. I have not been disappointed by audio from music, movies, games, or even Zoom meetings. It is slightly bass heavy, and unfortunately (unlike some of the more expensive HyperX headsets) there is no equalizer to adjust this. However, if you want a simple headset that you don't need to fiddle around with, this should more than meet your needs. The flip-to-mute mic is always a welcome addition, and this one works well, with clear vocal audio. I wouldn't recommend this if you want to record podcasts, although it will certainly do in a pinch. It seems to handle everything quite well. I primarily use this as a backup headset when my primary headset dies, but I'm generally surprised with it each time I put it on. HyperX software and support leave A LOT to be desired, and I wish they would work on that, but with the affordable cost combined with the audio quality from the cans and microphone, I give these a lukewarm 5 stars. 4.5 stars is what I would give this if I could give it a half-star rating.

So far so good - works with Linux
These are recognized in Linux (pavucontrol is preferred here). Similar in several ways to competitor's headset, which did not last long at all (that other product had a mic boom intermittent issue - never repaired). This one seems well-behaved for the mic boom and has not failed at all. It's a flexy gooseneck type mic boom. Audio is just okay. Not as much bass in mic audio as expected but it's within range of acceptable. Headset (at the ears) audio is fine but nothing to write home about. Can hear others clearly (used almost always for the spoken word; podcasts, Discord voice chat). Seems to work without a 'driver' in Linux and is identified correctly. Have gotten used to setting up a range of volume in pavucontrol (a mixer) to avoid trying to hit the limits using the thumbwheel audio volume control on this headset. Battery life not great but usually enough. I would say the competitor's set lasted a good deal longer on one charge. Charge monitor circuit is an LED that 'breathes' and is hard to get a read on - have to stare at it not to miss the brief moment it 'breathes' to a very low brightness, before recovering to near full or full brightness. Needs a redesign for human factor (not an issue if you are not waiting for it to finish the charge, in order to immediately use the headset). Good price and durability seems good or very good (still too soon to say for sure) so would likely re-order these, if this pair lasts a good while (18 months would be the minimum acceptable service life here). Does the job.

Still working like new 3 yrs later
I bought these in June of 2022. Used them for my home office with several meetings daily for about a year and a half. I love that when you flip the mic upward, it totally mutes you. I'd even "test" it by saying hello during meetings and no one could hear me. It's also nice to be able to walk around cordlessly and it has a very good range. I can go anywhere downstairs and halfway upstairs before signal starts to cut out. My daughter uses it for homeschool now as the primary use, but my other kids have used it for gaming. Still works like new all these years later. Battery life is insane still. I can go a week without charging it or more with daily intermittent use of an hour here and there all day. I think the battery life is about 30 hours and it definitely is!! For work it lasted a few days between charging. But you can still use it when charging, so that's a nice option also. Great sound, very comfortable for myself, husband and kids....best pair of usb cordless headphones I've ever had. Definitely recommend.

They lasted me 6 years. If you're not clumsy, they'll last you even longer. Great buy.
I bought these in 2020. Now, at the beginning April 2026, they've run their course. I play games, and make music with them. The sound quality's pretty nice. I have dropped them a number of times. Because it's wireless, I would often take them from my desk into my kitchen to cook with them on, and sweat enough to peel the ear cusions off (I've replaced them twice.) The sound quality was always great. Today, audio integrity has finally tanked. I have been so happy with these, that I don't see a reason to buy anything else. They were 70+ dollars in 2020 and they lasted 6 years. That's a decent run for its money if you ask me. As I understand, speaker technology has not improved in decades, so I'm just going to buy another one of these instead of changing over to the newer models.

Works great with just Windows drivers
The startup instructions directed me to download the DTS Sound Unbound application before connecting the headphones. I found that app to cost $19.99 so I took a chance and just plugged in the wireless USB dongle and turned on the headphones. Voila! The sound works perfectly with the Windows sound drivers. No need to get complicated unless you need advanced sound settings. Although I rated the sound and bass as 5 stars, I don't want it to be understood that these are equal to top of line Sennheisers for listening. However, I found music listening to be pleasant if audiophile ears are not criticizing. There is plenty of bass as well as detail in the midrange and treble. Separation between left and right earphones in stereo sounds like there is zero crossover. I plan to use these in online meetings primarily as I have other higher rated headphones for listening. However, I was attracted by the wireless connection to the PC as well as the flip-up-to-mute boom mic which I find convenient for calls and meetings on the computer. Will try it out today with MS Teams and report back if there are any issues. Used these in several MS Teams meetings after posting the initial review. They are exactly what I wanted. The mic muted when flipped up. That worked perfectly. Holding down the power button for a few seconds turns the device on or off with a beep. A green LED shows when on and the LED on the USB dongle goes from blinking red to solid red when the headset is on and connected. Apparently, there is also an automatic shutoff after a while of no sound. This did not happen during meetings--only after disconnecting from a meeting and laying them down on the desk. When powering on, the phones instantly connect to the computer and are ready to go. Less of a lag than Bluetooth. Range is about 20 to 30 feet and is affected by obstacles--moreso if the obstacle is large and metallic--like a refrigerator.

Not great. *UPDATE ITS WORST!! IM TRASHING THIS
**UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM Some of this might be personal preference, but its my review so I'm giving my opinion. Cons: -Price wasn't worth it, and then it drops $40 some months after I bought it (yeah I paid $85 before the price drop, rip $40). -When the battery is low, prepare yourself for the most annoying tone to blast your eardrums on repeat every 3 seconds. I got the message the battery is low... I'm in a Teams/Webex meeting and I can't get up right now so I guess I have to suffer. But you better not suffer too long otherwise it will die on you in 5 mins, yeah they don't leave you much time when the warning comes. -For my work I'm often times in 'working session' type meetings where there can be periods of silence. The times of silence can be 5, 10, +15 mins. Apparently this headset likes to auto shut off if there is no audio for too long, with zero warning. The first time I ran into this, the people on my meeting were waiting 10 mins for me to respond to a question and I had no idea... now I have to keep generating audio myself every so often just to make sure it doesn't cut out on me. Pros: -play audio -has a microphone There are better options, I don't know why this has so many good reviews. The review count tricked me, rip. I probably wouldn't be as salty, but the price drop is kind of annoying since I paid premium for a lack luster headset. **UPDATE: Well I just had one my fears come to life, and it was all thanks to this pos headset. I was in a team wide morning meeting at work, and this headset's @#$!%#$ mute 'function' decided to break on me with no warning. So while the boss was talking I was also having a conversation with my wife on the meeting. I'm pretty pissed, I muted myself with the headset, and it failed at the worst time. On top of that, I was talking about how I had slept in that morning (because I was up until 4am the night before for work), but no one has that context, so I just sound bad. This headset is a piece of crap, save yourself some frustration and your career and get another headset. I'm hulking these into the wall and have another headset in my cart already.

Mediocre headset for a decent price
Lets start off with the pros. - The sound on this headset is quiet good. It is a bit punchy on the lows, but the mids and highs still come through well. - The volume levels are also quiet loud as I found myself running this headset around volume level 30 on Windows compared to closer to 50 on my last two headsets. - It has decent battery life. I have done 12 hour gaming session with these and didn't have any issues. I haven't had the headset long enough to know if it will work through multiple sessions, but I am also good about putting my headsets on the charging cable every night. Now for the cons: - Cheap plastic construction. I was actually a bit shocked at how cheap these felt when I got them. - Stiff and uncomfortable on the head and ears. The foam padding does something, but I found myself needing to take off the headset every so often after a couple hours to give my ears and head a break. - Volume slider has some issues. There is a delay between when I finish turning the slider and when the volume stops changing. - Poor range. I can't go more than 15 feet away from the computer or have things between myself and the computer without the headset disconnecting. - Longer charging time compared to other headsets. Some headsets I have had in the past could get 2-3 hours of runtime out of 15-20 minutes of charging. I had these die on me pretty quickly after getting them out of the box, so I put them on the charger for around 30-45 minutes while I did some housework. This only lasted about 60-90 minutes of runtime. To get the good battery life, you need to let these charge overnight. This can leave you without a working headset if you forget to charge them. Overall, I would say this is a decent entry level wireless headset for the sale price I got them at (~$50). However, I would not advise getting these for the listed retail price of $79.99 as I think there are better options at that price point. Even at the $50 price point, you might be better off getting a higher quality wired headset due to the comfort problems I outlined.

Nice sounding headset.
Good, almost spacial audio. I can navigate some games by direction of the sounds alone. Decent audio, and very good microphone for its price range. I've used for MS Teams, VoIP servers, Discord, Skype, Twitch, etc, with no noticeable compression errors or issues, or even lag. Simple setup, a trained chimpanzee could do it, 1) check headset charge with power cable. 2) plug in receiver to USB port (USB-3 = blue & nice). 3) apply charged headset to head and press "power" button, reassign microphone and headset, to your headset in Windows (if you use it, but still, Linux is better):(optional) Flip down microphone to talk, flip up to mute it. 4) enjoy. I'd stand by this headset, "in class", as one of the best, no RGB (that you can't even see on your head!!!), no messing around, comfortable for extended gaming sessions/raids, clear communication with teammates, (if you want to) and a nice soundscape (I think you may need the Xbox for PC marketplace, (but it's free,) Dolby app). They're great, my daily drivers, no faff, just press the power button and that's it! Talking to friends, gaming, chatting with family. And the wireless range is, OK, about 10 feet? But who uses their PC 10 feet away? So it was an unfair test in practicality, but I could still chat my my buddies from my kitchen, which is ~15", maybe 20" from my Living Room Gaming rig/media centre, no issues to report. I don't think you'd be disappointed in this headset for the price, (I do have a Hyper-X sticker on one of my rigs 😅, but no bias), I do like them and use them daily, even with a Docked, Valve Steam Deck.
