A lovely video
Arrived on time well packaged. No problem playing this on my relatively modern (about a year old) blue ray player. The stories are excellent if you like the "Anne of Green Gables" type of stuff, and the acting, scenery etc is wonderful. If you've never tried these stories you ought to try the first series to get the hang of the overal plot. By series five the young actors and actresses are staring to grow up, but series five is just as good as all the preceding ones.

A most delightful Avonlea season - without dvd-region trouble!
If the relationship between Gus and Felicity is among your favourite storylines of the wonderful series "Road to Avonlea", then this is the season you'd want to buy most of all! In season 4, the main attention shifts from Sara to Felicity, with all the ups and downs of a budding but serious teenage romance set in the far from quiet everyday life of the small early 20th century village of Avonlea. Excellent storylines, a beautiful setting, and best of all: inspite of Amazon's announcing it as a region 1 dvd, it plays excellent on my region 2 player, since the Avonlea dvd's are actually regionfree!

Road to Avonlea
Road to Avonlea has been a long time childhood series that I've wanted to re-watch for some time. Amazon's delivery of the item was extremely fast, delivering it within 2 days, in great condition.I would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys some wholesome entertainment as this demonstrates the proper decorum from PEI in the 1800s. From the fashion, historical event references, to the lives of the characters that you get wrapped up in over the 7 seasons. I thoroughly enjoyed the series.

Outstanding in every way!
My wife and I got hooked on "Avonlea" during its initial run on The Disney Channel in the early 1990's. As I recall we were both very pleased to find a show devoid of all of the double entendre and sexual innuendo that was becoming so prevalant on prime time television in those days. Well here we are nearly two decades later and network and cable TV continues to sink to new lows. My wife and I simply don't watch it. As an alternative we have built our own library of classic motion pictures and quality television shows. Recently we purchased the four disc set "Road To Avonlea: The Complete Fourth Season". Much to our delight we discovered that we had never even seen the overwhelming majority of the 13 episodes included in this set.In Season Four we are introduced to Clive Pettibone, the new schoolteacher brought to Avonlea to replace the retiring Hetty King. Pettibone is a retired military man who brings a rather stern demeanor to his new position. At the beginning it is unclear whether the children of Avonlea will ever be able to adjust to his rather authoritarian style of teaching. Season Four also follows the blossoming romance between Felicity King and Gus Pike. There are numerous twists and turns along the way and it seems that teenage angst is on display all season long. Meanwhile, a number of this season's episodes revolve around the White Sands Hotel where young Felix King gets his first job and Aunt Hetty decides to become an investor much to the chagrin of proprietor Simon Tremaine. To date I have seen 12 of the 13 episodes and I am pleased to report that each and every one of them is of the very highest quality. Again. most of these episodes were new to us. I particularly enjoyed an episode called "Evelyn" where a schoolboy chum of Alex King returns to Avonlea with his young wife and is killed in a tragic accident. This episode is very poignant and is sure to bring a tear to your eye. My favorite episode of the season is called "The Dinner" and I recommend it to you wholeheartedly. This just might be the best episode I have seen in this series thus far.In "Road To Avonlea: The Complete Fourth Season" Executive Producer Kevin Sullivan has given us around 600 minutes of the highest quality television you are ever going to find. The photography is simply stunning and the writing top-drawer. Meanwhile, a word of praise to Anne Tait, the person responsible for casting this show. The largely Canadian-born actors and actresses who make up the cast prove to be a diverse and incredibly talented group with the ability to evoke the full range of emotions from their audience. After viewing "Road To Avonlea: The Complete Fourth Season" my wife and I are bound and determined to own the entire series. In fact, we have already purchased seasons three and five. "Road To Avonlea" is that rare TV show that can be enjoyed by the entire family. If you are looking for quality entertainment for your family look no further. It simply does not get any better than this. Very highly recommended!

Do not buy this product. If you do view disc 2 within days of purchase.
I bought this is April, 2015. I purchased a lot of DVDs through this same order. I opened this DVD around the middle of August, 2015. I got to disc 2 earlier today. The episode "Incident at Vernon River" keeps freezing up. Needless to say Amazon refuses to replace it because their policy is only 30 days. That needs to change for this type of product. Do not buy this product. If you do view disc 2 within days of purchase.

Season 4
I bought the complete 7 season set of this and spent almost a whole weekend watching it as I could not stop at just watching one of the shows. It was a good way to spend the winter. Love the gossipy women and how they twist things around. Heddy King is the best she seems to know how to handle all situations. Would recommend this for anyone to watch.

Wonderful
The seller I bought this from was wonderful about replacing a disc that had been scratched while in transit. Which was my only problem! **If you don't see the "Widescreen HI-DEF" on the front of the picture, then it is not the newest release of Road To Avaonlea.** As always, this is wonderful to buy and have for relaxing when you need something a bit more quiet than today's entertainment.

Road to Avonlea Seasons 1-7
I agree with J. Romero as I have been ordering the seasons one at a time, too (more affordable)...never thought I would be able to get the series and was so sad..I couldn't afford to buy it off the Sullivan site and when I found it on Amazon so affordably I could buy one at a time...it was wonderful. I actually first saw the series thru Netflix and redid the series thru Netflix again because I loved it so much...now I own them!! I can watch any time. I had the privilege of visiting PEI 3 years ago and loved being up there and seeing "Anneland" Would love to visit again (in the wintertime)...when I'm done with RTA I'll be looking to getting the "Wind at my Back " series...'cause I really enjoy that one, too. What excellent entertainment!

format problems
I rated it only 4 stars for the format, because I really love Avonlea. It's as if someone zoomed in on the faces to make it fit screen. It takes a while to get used to watching it.
