Neko Chan Katarantula with Rod

My cat loves this toy. The Neko Flies toys are definitely not cheap, but it is for a reason. They are truly well crafted and hold up to lots of kitty cat play time. They are also uniquely engaging. The toy itself is smaller in size than most cat toys, but that is why it works. My cat is able to bit, grab, pull, chase... and do just about everything playful with it. He loves it and is super picky. I just ordered another wand to keep upstairs so that we can use it to tire our kitty out before bed.

Out cat loves his katarantula, in the cat way, which is to say he swats it and chews it and claws it. Even so, the little bug is very tough and has lasted through all the 'cat love'. We've been using it regular for about 6 months. I wish the string was a little thinner; there is another brand that has a thin wire instead of a heavy string, and when the katarantula is attached to the thin wire it moves much more like a real bug the cat seems to 'love' it more on the wire. Yes I took the bug off it's green string and put it onto the wire of the other brand. But even it that wasn't possible, this is a toy that I would not want my cat to be without.

This toy is great! My cat loooves to hunt bugs specifically. He likes the feather toys, but has kind of lost interest over time. This one he really gets into chasing & he goes crazy when I bring it out. He growls when I try to take it! He's an indoor kitty with a big feral streak & this toy is perfect for holding his attention & getting him some quality exercise, even at 3 years old. I do store it where he can't get it, as the company recommended. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the bugs eyes came off pretty early on, & I assume my cat ate & passed them. So there weren't problems, but the toy probably doesn't need the eyes. A little pricey, but it's his favorite toy. So glad to have found this toy.

Our cats- who are generally not that into cat toys- ADORE this one.Miss Heidi- who is generally too dignified to frolic- simply cannot resist it, and won't give the other cats even a brief look-in. It is ALL HERS. I tried hiding it and she actively started digging it out just now!I look forward to trying some of the other attachments. The rod is very sturdy and comfortable, and it's easy to change off the attachments. I hope the rest hit the prey drive as much as this one does!

Well, you have to do the work, but if you do your cats will not stop chasing this guy. I have two cats, one is non stop action, the other is a bit lazy, but BOTH will chase this creature. The pole is high quality (though one did break on us somehow...) and the toy has legs the cats love.I've had the dragonfly bug and the red bug you see here. They prefer the DRAGONFLY.

First, 19.99 is what we paid for this, and that is insane.Second, the wand snapped in half in the first week.Cats love it, but it's broken so back it goes.

it didn't unravel within hours. My cats loved it, but demolished it in within hours, so I will be returning it...the company may need to make the thread or whatever it is wrapped in a lot tighter, stronger or use some other kind of material. My kitten had it pulled apart in a couple of hours.Unfortunately I would never be able to recommend this toy.

My kitties were so excited while I was unpacking this and preparing it for use. They love Da Bird and quickly assumed it was playtime when they saw the wand. After having this for a few days they are still excited to play with it but I believe they much prefer the excitement of Da Bird. I think the attachments are expensive but well-made, the wand is sturdy but much too short for the 42" string, and the lobster claw to attach to wand is a great improvement over Da Bird's fishing tackle closure. I do believe the wand would break where Da Bird is much more flexible. This wand with katarantula was extremely bowed when I received it. Until my second wand arrived I didn't know it wasn't made to be bowed. I had to do some research to find out the wand is supposed to be straight. (That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.) The straight wand really makes the attachments work much better. The katarantula is very colorful and of all the attachments is both my kitties favorite. While this set of wand and katarantula is priced good at $20, the accompanying attachments at $14 each is pricey. An individual wand is $12. Unfortuantely at this time you cannot buy anything but the katarantula and kittenator with the wand at the $20 price.Overall, I think improvements need to be made with the wand and string sizes. The price also needs to come down for me to keep this product in my arsenal of cat toys.
