Product Description The new album from Russian soprano, Olga Peretyatko, singing Rossini's best-known ariasWith the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna conducted by Alberto Zedda Review "Olga Peretyatko sings dazzlingly." --The New York Times"She possesses a spectacularly nimble voice, and displayed pinpoint coloratura. Her sound is light from low to high, her top is free and secure, and her intonation is about as close to perfect as it comes." --New York Classical Review

Exquisite
This is another stunning album from a remarkable soprano. This time, Ms. Peretyatko shows that she can effortlessly guide her beautiful voice through the labyrinthine passages of Rossini. A disc to treasure.

Great opera singer
Wonderful voice. Comparable with Maria Callas. I would say its more musical. Calass's voice has a bit more power. Couldn't find vinyl. I guess the quality would be much better. Recommend.

Such a lovely voice! This music creates a mood of peace and nuanced, thoughtful contemplation
Listening takes me to a gentler, peaceful and lovely place.I am definitely a novice listener of classical music. I used to listen to music like this quite often, but life took a turn that left me with very little quality listening time. I've been toying with getting back "into it". I happened to run across the profile page of a reviewer whom I respect, and he recommended this album. I could not have made a better choice! It is a wonderful hour-plus interlude of listening pleasure. Perfect for bringing peace and optimism to turbulent thoughts. Listening to this album turns me around every time! Beautiful, just beautiful! Superb.

it's not just a shallow compliment but a super enthusiastic recognition of the vocal prowess of the highest ...
A true masterpiece - a word I do not use lightly. Also, I've never been a big fan of Rossini's, so coming from me, it's not just a shallow compliment but a super enthusiastic recognition of the vocal prowess of the highest level.Brava, bravissima, Olga Peretyatko!

The worst Commercial Rossini CD
Maestro Zedda is now in his late 80s; he's probably forgot that he used to work with great voices like Katia Ricciarelli, Lella Cuberli, Rockell Blake, June Anderson and so on. Olga Peretyatko's tiny and insignificant voice does not do justice to all thesw arias; a colourless voice with NO coloratura, pitch issues, no acuti and no sovracuti....then what's left?? Her ornaments sound ridiculous, never in style, always distorting the line. In addition to the mushy coloratura, she has serious pitch issues. In order to become a decent musician, Mrs Peretyatko needs to study a lot; the "bel raggio lusinghier" shows how terrible she can manage canto fiorito. This is probably the worst ever studio recorded rendition of this aria. In both arias from Il Viaggio a Reims we can easily observe her vocal and technical limitation. I strongly recommend June Anderson and Cecilia Gasdia for these two arias. Amenaide's aria that is meant to be a light one: it's painful to hear her strained top with pitch issues, no legato and lastly, no emotion. In Il Turco, I would have told her "I vostri cenci vi mando e nel teatro piu non vi voglio"; no spice to bring the flavour of the character and her coloratura is just painful to my ears...she simply cannot sing her own variations! Lastly, even in Rossina's aria her lack of charm and personality and her serious technical issues make me throw this horrible CD in the bin.

Viva Rossini e viva Olga!
Bella musica, e la dolce far' niente, no? Chi vorrebbe piu?
