I had wanted to see the Theatrical release, but now I am definitely glad that I did not.The amount of material deleted in the theatrical edition is not only substantial, but it is also pivotal.Make very sure you listen in 5.1 to this film, because several scenes make the most of this technology.More and more, the invasive edits that destroy stories are making unrated versions the defacto quality versions.The story is pretty straight forward, but the scare factors come from the slow build, and the theatrical edition had the slow build elements deleted.Also, the DVD menu is a great design. The deleted scenes are, once again, ones that should not have been. The making of, and the Special FX elements are very good. Also, with two commentaries, forget about the directors, and focus on the second one with Joel Soisson and others... not only is the second one more informative, but its damned entertaining.Another first rate Romanian shoot, just goes to show that low cost does not mean low value, just that MPAA approved means the story is eviscerated.This is pretty cool in many ways: one of the subordinate characters is now in THE REAPER on one of the Broadcast networks, as they busily and somewhat sardonically collect souls for return to Hell on behalf of the Devil ( Shades of "Constantine" and GHOST RIDER , I think ? Anyways, loads of fun and all great movies ).ENJOY

Good movie, I liked it enough to buy it. Was disappointed when selected multiformat thinking dvd or digital copy included. No just a blu ray. Not sure where the other format is. Maybe seller listing error.

58 year old veteran of horror movies. I see why Wes Craven disowned this. Fast skipped through sessions then decided to go back to see how the story resolved. If interested in possible but unlikely apocalyptic scenarios, then OK. Not scary.

Bell delivers a powerful and emotive lead role in this dystopian film. While dealing with the suicide of her boyfriend, Mattie (Bell) has to uncover the reason why he did it. He left clues that the heartthrob Dexter (Ian Somerhalder) finds, and together they have to outrun the evil forces pouring through the door left open for them by her ex.The ending makes a statement on technology that resonates today. But PULSE came out in 2006.

What if engineers found wireless frequency's we never knew existed? What if accessing these frequencies opened a gateway into our world from somewhere unknown? What if from the unknown realm creatures that could use all your favorite wireless technologies to get to you started poring out of your devices and tried to suck out your will to live?Sound interesting?It's the premise for the high tech horror film "Pulse." When a team of researchers discovers previously unknown wireless frequencies, their accessing these frequencies acts as a doorway for entities that drain out a persons enthusiasm , passion, and desire. Folks then kill themselves or are swallowed by some darkness, perhaps to the place the creatures come from, where their energy will be painfully consumed for a thousand years. This is a well done movie in terms of acting, cinematics, sound, and music, and I recommend it for anyone looking to add a great title to their horror collection.

First thing you should know, this movie is terrible. Nothing scary about it - its almost laughable.However, if you are into home theater and high end gear - this content will truly rock your system. Toward the end is one of the best uses of LFE I have ever heard in my system. For that, it gets 5 stars. If you want to give your sub a massive workout - then this is the movie to do it. Too bad you have to watch the story to get to the only good part of this movie. Lol.

I almost passed on this movie because of the number of mediocre to scathing reviews. I'm not sure what movie the negative reviewers watched because "Pulse" (Unrated) is absolutely superb. The concept of what are essentially psychic ghost vampires from other dimensions of artificial intelligence using our computer network for a mass invasion is done really well. The movie is dark, eerie, ominous and really really creepy. The general over excellence of the special effects, sound effects and editing are simply "tip-top" and cannot be exaggerated. The only mild distraction is the mediocre performances of some of the secondary characters. My highest recommendation.

Great movie, unavailable in Europe so opted to buy a Region A disc to try it in my player. Even though the disc has Region A on it it plays on my Region B Blu-Ray player. Much better version than the original Japanese movie. This is a rarity as Asian movies are usually superior to American remakes.

als ich mir pulse angekuckt habe, hatte ich überhaupt keine arnung um was es da geht, oder was mich erwartet.ich wusste nur das es ein remake eines asia-horror-films ist und habe ihn mir deshalb angeschaut, übrigens kenne ich das original nicht.schon das intro hat mir relativ gut gefallen und hat mich neugierig gemacht. die schauspieler haben ihre rolle sehr gut gemacht.der film hat von anfang bis ende eine düster atmosphäre und ist in gruseligen blautönen gehalten. ich stehe ja auf horror-filme die in den blautönen gedreht sind.der film wird immer spannender und man hat die ganze zeit keine anung worum es überhaupt geht, bis man es erfährt und das fande ich sehr gut, denn so wird man eine lange zeit im unwiesenden gelassen und man fragt sich ständig warum geschieht das den jetzt.bis man die auflösung hat.besonders hat mir das ende gefallen da es sehr spannend dargestellt wurde und es dort auch schön zur sache geht.ich bin jedenfalls sehr gut von pulse überraschd und kann ihn nur empfehlen.ich finde auch das die story doch recht originel ist und ich finde es auch sehr gut dargstellt, man merkt schon das meister wes craven seine finger im spiel hatte.auch nach mehr maligen kucken, weiß pulse noch zu unterhalten.kann ich nur empfehlen, sehr gut.

and was hoping that the blu ray would show Kristen Bell in the buff because its unrated but it has nothing mre then the same stuff iv seen in this before its loaded with cgi too
