A: The 0809 is only the production date. Cross makes 2 different style rollerball refills. They make this one and a slim version for their new lines. If your current refill you are talking about measures 4 1/2 inches long, this is what you want to order. The "slim" rollerball refill measures 4 inches long. I hope this helps !!

A: I have a Cross Edge Capless Gel Ink Pen and this refill works very well and is durable. Ink flow is very good and the resulting images exceptional. This is a great pen and this refill works well.

A: You say you need a refill for the Slim Gel "click" pen. In your question, the key word is "Slim." You want the 8910-2 (Blue) or 8910-1 (Black) refill for your click pen. This 8523-2 refill is for the Selectip pens, not the "click" pen. The length of the Slim and Selectip refills are different and not interchangeable! Note that the #0413 you mention is not a model number, it's the mm/yy date the refill was manufactured. Cross definitely doesn't make obtaining the correct refill an easy task!

A: This 8523-2 (or 8523-1) refill is the correct refill for a Cross Selectip pen. If you are looking for refills for the "Click" pen, you need the Slim refill, part number 8910-1 or 8910-2. The Selectip and Click pen refills are not interchangeable due to differences in length. By the way, the 0910 you mention is not the model number, it's the mm/yy date of manufacture of the cartridge!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Is it Time to Put Cross Pens on Blocks?

Now that Cross Writing Instruments are being made in China (They have been for a while), there seems to be a drop in their quality, noticed by every writer facing the frustration and balance issues of a pen cap that fails to stay secure on the back of the pen while writing. Fortunately, most of my Cross Pens are "vintage." So, the challenge is only to secure the proper refill. My preference ranges widely from fountain pen, to rolling ball, to felt tip, medium sized. The refills for these pens are fast-approaching a price that might rival the cost of half, or a quarter of the price of the pen. That's not a good return on your money. Imagine buying a $50,000 car that can use only one type of tire, and they cost $15,000 a piece. Oh! And the tires average about 20,000 miles before needing to be replaced. Oh! And your daily commute is about 120 miles round trip. Starting to sweat a little, or were you taught "new math" and deciding a pencil is better, and just makes sense?! I've been using the medium felt tips, or porous points, recently. They are often over $12.00 a piece. I was fortunate to find this vendor, with a cost of around $9.00 a piece through Amazon. However, I can run through an entire refill with just a day and a half of heavy note-taking. I have tried to find another manufacturer of refills that fit these pens, but struck out so far. Levenger used to have refills. But, it seems they no longer sell them. I was happy to find the more reasonable prices here, along with quick, reliable shipping. But, like that special car I mentioned, my Cross Pens may be up on blocks soon. The Waterman's are ready to pinch hit. Oh! And the big kicker: The Cross brand website often fails to have the medium porous points listed. And, if you make the mistake of requesting to be notified, you will receive daily repetitive texts about their great sales, but still no porous point refills. You've been warned. This is probably your best bet for the foreseeable future.
