The Complete Machine Gun Sessions by Peter Brotzmann (2007-08-21)

I'm not a great fan of free jazz but over the years have heard a lot about this album and took the plunge and bought it from Amazon as a download and I'm really glad I did. It's a challenging listen but one which repays close attention and the music begins to get into your head and becomes more structured with more hearings.Someone posting on the 'All About Jazz' website some time ago described it as a perfect Sunday morning after a heavy Saturday night record, another claimed it clears the sinuses like nothing else - I think, but I'm not sure, that they were joking.
