Best I've used by far.
This is a great garlic press. It's well built, easy to use, and easy to clean. I've got another, cheaper press from elsewhere that can't compare. The cheaper one is *so hard* to squeeze, and this one is a cinch. The basket is easy to clean with the included tool. If I were to find niggles, sometimes a bit of the garlic gets squeezed up the sides of the basket around the press. Also, the cleaning tool is a separate plastic piece, and is therefore prone to being lost in your drawer of utensils. But those are really minor complaints when compared to how wonderfully this press works. I can easily recommend it.

Simple Garlic Press Pleasures!
One of the best garlic presses we have sed to date. Few moving pieces. Solid construction. Room for large cloves. Easy to clean with the little plastic piece. We had a Pampered Chef press years ago that functioned very well. This is every bit as good and slightly larger. We love it. There is peace in the kitchen again after 2 -3 presses that didn't work as advertised and made cooking a chore.

Nice design except for one big flaw
I use a garlic press daily, I have owned lots of models and currently have three in rotation depending on the job to be done. This garlic press is well made with a good volume for the cylinder, the right balance of hole number and size, and well as the right leverage for pressing. The plunger moves out of the way well for loading and unloading. Getting all those right is surprisingly rare. The critical flaw is that the cylinder is not a cylinder. When compressing something, the walls of the cylinder have to be parallel and the same diameter as the plunger or piston. Unfortunately, this fundamental design principle was missed. The chamber is tapered, so garlic squeezes out the sides of the plunger. You can reduce the problem by only loading a little bit, and therefore only using the bottom of the chamber where the clearance is tighter. So close! I hope they offer the same design but with the chamber an actual cylinder!

A nicely designed garlic press!
Decided to try out another garlic press after breaking my last one and getting tired of smashing cloves in a plastic bag and having the good stuff squirt out the blown seams of the bag. I typically like the OXO brand of kitchen tools but decided to give the Rowav a shot after another reviewer's comments. They stressed how the Rowav handles didn't flex when they started squeezing garlic through it. That's how my last press went in the garbage - a stress-fractured handle. The Rowav is a nice, molded aluminum device with a heavy clear anodize finish. The press is comprised of three parts, the two handle components and a pivoting plunger attached to the top handle. This allows a more uniform pressure to be applied across the garlic cloves. The grill/grate/apertures that the garlic passes through are fine enough to give a nice "mushy" consistency to the garlic. They don't seem to clog very easily. A small plastic cleaning tool is included to help you push chunks out of the apertures. It seems to work well, but I wonder how quickly it will get lost in my kitchen tool drawer...Although I've only used the press once so far, I AM impressed. I don't just crush one garlic clove at a time; I fill it up with 2-4 large cloves and have at it and it's withstood my gorilla-like torture without any noticeable flexing.

Wonderfully Easy to Use!!
I've never used a garlic press before, so personally have nothing to compare this to. But I read a lot of reviews of different styles, types and brands of garlic presses here on Amazon and other sites before I made my purchase and found this one to have the highest marks. After years of trying all the other methods by hand (peeling, smashing, slicing) I have to say I *LOVE* this Rowav Garlic Press! I did remove most of the tough membrane before I pressed the cloves. Next time, I'll be brave and try not peeling them first. I probably overloaded the press, because a tiny bit of pressed garlic oozed out around the back side of the presser... No big deal -- it was for the sake of experimentation. I got the pressed garlic I needed for my recipe in a jiffy!! Nothing bent that wasn't supposed to bend. Even though I overloaded the press, I was able to squeeze the handles together easily to operate the press. Clean up was a breeze -- I think the little cleaning tool is not really needed (some folks might like it, I guess). I just threw mine in soapy water for a few minutes, swished and rinsed and everything came away clean from the body of the presser just fine. Very happy with this purchase -- wish I had bought this years ago!

Not the best for garlics.
For some years I've been trying to find a garlic press comparable to my old 'Bebe Presse' that I bought in France in the '60s. From the description and reviews, I thought that this one would approach the performance of my old one. To my frustration, it didn't even come close to it. A garlic press, to be most effective must have a cylindrical crushing container, not a conical one. The Rowav Garlic Press, although sturdy, suffers from the same defect of leaking the crushed garlic around the sides of the piston. Perhaps it'll work for nuts but, as a garlic crusher, it does not.

A great garlic press
After having spent my money on a new press for cheaper value, I quickly learned I messsd up. I took a chance with this product and hit a home run. It is sturdy, fully compressed all of the clove, and does not produce non-edible skin thru it mesh. When pressing it, it will not hurt your palm because of how it is shaped. Very sturdy and does not flex when pressed so would say it is worthy of professional or high usage.

Hate this garlic press
If you are working out at the gym every day....this might be fine....it is sooooo hard to use. Dummy me...I thought it would be great because of high price. I am angry at the maker of this piece of S... and at me!
