Love this, but there are 2 flaws
We purchased an iPad mini for our son for his 5th birthday. Overall this is a great product. The iPad fits well. The stylus is nice for practicing writing but it did take our son a little getting used to the feel of it (how hard to press and what angles to hold it at). There is a space for easy access to the side and back buttons and the back camera is not blocked. The front camera is under the protective coating but this results in minimal, if any, distortion of the image. The case makes the size of the iPad a little bigger; overall with the case the iPad mini becomes roughly the same size as a regular iPad. There are 2 flaws which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. First, the only way to charge the iPad is by taking it out of the case. There is no opening for the power cord. Second, the microphone is covered by the case. When trying to do FaceTime with grandparents, they could not hear us. Once we took it out of the case they could hear us fine. Hopefully these flaws will be addressed on future models. I would definitely buy this case again inspite of these flaws.

Love this!
My boyfriend purchased this for our son since I bought him an iPad, and it's great! We had a little one for an iPod and it held up really well, so we decided to get another one for his iPad! We've had it for 8 months and it's still going strong. My son throws it, steps on it, spills drinks on it, and it's still perfect!I will say it did take me by surprise that the back is opened for the camera, lock button, and volume but we have never had an issue with it. I try not to use it too much so my son won't notice it.It is SO much easier to open than the iPod case! The iPod case you basically had to have a coin to open it, and I don't always carry change with me. The iPad case you just pinch these two things together and it opens.I read the reviews where people complain about it not having a charging hole, but do you really want your kid messing with the cord if it's charging? I surely don't. Just charge it when they aren't using it or when their sleeping. Easy enough to me.

Best case ever
This is a great case for the ipad mini. I have the fisher price case for the ipad and was happy they made one for the mini. Within minutes my 4 yr old dropped it down the stairs. The case is very durable. It protects the screen from dirty fingers and liquids. I just wish it had access to charge the ipad. I do like how it closes with a snap unlike the other case. i havent downloaded the fisher price app to use the stylus. But if the app is similar to the other fisher price apps i am sure it is great. I really recommend the case. My boys are boys. Rough, rowdy, and at times careless but the case protects our ipads without question. Also, since it is for a mini ipad it isnt bulky and heavy.

Pretty cool ipad mini case
When I started looking for ipad mini cases I noticed there is not a huge selection for small children. I would also like to note that according to the box this case was designed by otterbox. My daughter loves this case and the app that comes with it. She really likes using the pen and it is so nice that it is attached so she cant lose it. As other posters said the only downside to this case is that you cant charge it with the case on and the case is NOT easy to get on and off. However, we still like the case and I think if they just did a small redesign it would be perfect. We have not dropped this yet so I cant comment on the protection at this time.

Do not buy!!
Wanted a sturdy case for my 4-year-old son. This case is sturdy, but the designers neglected to have a slot in the side for charging the ipad. This flaw requires you t o remove the ipad every time it needs charging. This was a poor decision made by Fisher-Price. Had I known that it didn't have this feature, I would not have bought it. The only reason I kept it was because my son likes the looks of it. The app that comes with it is good and my children enjoy them. I can not express it enough that the inability to charge the ipad without removing it is a deal-breaker for me and I do NOT recommend this product.

Special Needs kid approved case!
Great case for my Autistic son who can demolish cases with ease. It's tricky to open which is a blessing. The only down side is there's no port for the plug... but an easy fix is to take a soldering iron n' melt one yourself (not with the iPad in during)... now he can use it all day. Another fix for my son was to purchase a micro usb to lightning adapter that I perma attached to the case because Apple cords are more expensive & he tend to yank on them, so now if he yanks on the cord it just pops out n' I pop it right back in.

Great for kids!!!
The case is really solid, the only thing bothers me is that you have to take the iPad out of the case to change it, wich in first place puts again the iPad in risk! But my boys love it and it is really nice! I absolutely recommend this product.

Can do better
Taking the ipad in and out to charge gets old. It's a bit hard to press the home button. And finally, our toddler wants to chew on the stylus all the time. It seemed like a good idea when we were buying it. But it's not working out.
