PlanarPXL2230MW 22-Inch 16:9 1080p Touchscreen LCD Monitor

I needed a touchscreen monitor for use with a chromebox at a preschool. As luck would have it, this is the monitor that gave the most bang for the buck and it is explicitly supported by ChromeOS. Setup was a breeze. I connected the hdmi and usb cables from the computer to the monitor, and the touch just worked. Not only that , it worked great. No calibration was needed. All touch inputs were true and accurate.The stand is a little unusual on this thing. It has a kickstand, which is actually fairly handy. Unfortunately it does get in the way of mounting the chromebox to the back of the monitor the way I wanted. You can still hook the Asus Chromebox to the monitor. The computer just sits up a little higher than I would like. Depending on the relative height of your sitting position, you may be able to see the computer. I was hoping to hide it completely.The picture and controls are great on this monitor. I would highly recommend it.

I purchased these for a cash register that we use. One of the screens went out so I bought this as a replacement to some other brand I had. The difference was night and day. The colors are so much vibrant, I love that’s it’s a big screen, and the touch screen works like magic! I was so impressed I bought a second screen for our other cash register.

I purchased this monitor less than a year ago and used it very little in comparison to most. I used it for an extra monitor when troubleshooting computer displays/video cards. I was going to use it for a raspberry pi touchscreen project, but the convenience of a secondary monitor was too handy for troubleshooting and never came back to it. While this product worked, it was everything as advertised and at a good price. The touchscreen was not as accurate as I hoped however it was satisfactory for my needs.However, I CAN NOT recommend it due to the monitor's poor lifetime.This monitor is now a doorstop because, when turned on, the screen only displays a white errored out screen (see picture), without an on-screen-display and completely unresponsive from all controls on the monitor. Power on, white screen. That's it. Leading up to it, it would not display any input but I could power cycle it a few times to get it to display an input again. That all points to poor internal electronics causing faulty hardware. I hope the seller can make good on this because otherwise I'm S.O.L. on my $200+ for a product that didn't last for a solid year with little to no use.

This is an excellent monitor, crisp & quite bright. The touchscreen controls work very well and the glass front makes for easy cleaning and prevents any finger damage. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is Windows' fault, not the monitor's.I don't have a smartphone or "mobile device" and am new to touchscreens. Some "experts" had assured me that Windows 7's touchscreen interpreter does indeed see a touch as a mouse click, and that most programs will interpret a touch in exactly that way.So I bought this monitor for use with a "glass cockpit" flight simulation trainer, thinking that I could use my hand to touch the screen and "push the buttons" same as I would on the real aircraft display, so as to enhance the realism and the training value.Unfortunately the touchscreen doesn't behave that way and it didn't work. I later learned from the mfg'r that the simulator package "does not support the use of touchscreens". Oh, well.This is still a great monitor; the touch controls work with other programs.

Really nice picture quality and very responsive to touch. I'm using it to demonstrate a website tool and it works great. Great product for the price.

Overall the screen is OK, the main reason I purchased this was to use with a Chromebox for the touch support. When used as the primary screen or in mirrored mode the touch support is fine. However, my plan was to use this screen in extended display mode this basically destroys any touch functionality it possessed as the main monitor or in mirrored mode. I don't know where the fix lies with Chrome OS or Planar to resolve this problem. The only reason I compromised with the smaller size and resolution was for the touch support in extended display mode. I hope that planar looks into this though because this display is now useless to me as a secondary monitor.If your using this as a standalone screen or in mirrored mode you should be OK on Chrome OS. I still use it as an extended screen but I could of purchased a much better screen for the money had I known touch support would be severely crippled/lost in this mode. I think the touch function should work in all display modes, I will change this review if things get resolved but I'm not holding my breath as I'm sure my use is considered a fringe case.

This is a spectacular monitor for the price and function. Now I wish I had held out for the larger 27-inch screen. I was wary about using optical touch technology, but for a large format monitor, it is extremely useful. I didn't know it came with a stylus until I started reading the documentation...which I usually NEVER do...but there it is, tucked neatly away in the lower-left-hand corner of the monitor! Great flippin' product.

I read and read reviews of monitors before my Son said to get this one. He has first hand experiences with this monitor with his job. Ok...bite the bullet and ordered it.....LOVE IT...it is responsive. I do use a mouse and can touch...BTW with the included STYLUS that is in it's own little secret spot...bottom right ...if you are facing the screen. Very Nice Job Planar....!!! I am using this on Win 7 with not a problem. Had to upgrade to Win 7 from XP...the harddrive went out....So learning and playing with new OS and New Monitor....Great way to start the new year....

It's a great display for Windows 10. It's a bit heavy but it feels like good quality. Great email support!I had a problem at first with the display not responding to touch after 30 seconds but I contacted Planar and they gave me this tip to solve my problem:Make sure that the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' is turned off for the touchscreen.You have to go in the device manager under the HID (Human Interface Devices).

the touch screen never works but I had no time to send it back,

I bought this after my PXL2230 started to fade. That last one only lasted a couple of years, before the left side started to fade faster than the right side, and the touch no longer worked in the top right 1/8th or so of the screen.The good:Nice and bright, good price.Touch controls on the front are niceThe bad:Touch doesn't work as well as my 2230 did when I got it. Seems to think I'm barely alive. Found I had to touch and hold a moment for it to register.Heavy for my VESA mount, though it does hold it up, just harder to move on the arm because of the weightThick bezel
