RAAKA Organic Cask Aged Bourbon Chocolate Bar, 1.8 OZ

Yummy, but definitely for dark chocolate lovers

Mature flavoring here in this bar - nuanced - and you get a bit of the smoke from the bourbon cask. Like "tannins in red wine" dude I would agree that the experience of this bar is much like that of a glass of good red - if you're looking for a minute tasting experience, but in chocolate, this is a great choice - you'll go through the fruit, cask, and bitter dryness at the end. This bar is a 45-year-old tuxedoed gent smoking a cigar and sipping a Woodford Reserve.

Very dark good taste

Pros: Great business practices, Organic, Vegan, Soy Free, 82% Cacao, Hint of smokey finish which is presumably the cask? Cons: Were it not for the Pros listed above, I'd give this bar only 2 stars, for taste/mouth feel. This Bourbon Cask Aged Chocolate bar has a very hard consistency, compared to others sampled in a chocolate taste test. It doesn't melt quickly in the mouth and biting into a piece isn't nearly as pleasant as with a softer bar. The bar isn't scored so is not easily divided into portion sizes, or pieces for sharing. I might still try some of the other flavors, due to the (self-reported) exemplary business practices. But I wouldn't likely purchase this one again.

I had a similar experience as the previous reviewer. There's a definite dryness in the aftertaste akin to alcohol and yet it's still sweeter in the beginning than I'd have guessed. The bourbon lives in here as an essence in the mouth more than a flavor on the tongue. I dig it. It's less rich & creamy to me than many of Raaka's other flavors; I'd go to it more for an intriguing taste experience and to another flavor to satisfy a dessert craving.

Do not bother, dry, almost like eating coco powder, bourbon flavor/aging is not detected.

Works for my migraines. Can’t tell you why it just does. I have an Arsenal of ways to tame migraines. This is one of them.
