Not the best, not the worst
This cabinet is not bright white, it is more of a bone color, like a creamy off white. The cabinet does not have good assembly directions, mostly because the pieces are not marked well with “left side” “right side” “front” “back” “top” “bottom”, so we made a mistake and put the sides of the cabinet in upside down, so the drawer slides did not match up with the drawers when we were ready to put it all together. We were able to fix it, though the cam locks make it difficult, but hopefully this review will help others not to make the same mistake. I will post photos so you can see what NOT to do, and what it looks like when it’s completely assembled correctly. Assembly took almost 2 hours, with the mistake. The handles were shiny metal and looked cheap, so I chalk painted them charcoal and it looks so much cuter that way. I gave it 3 stars because it’s not the worst cabinet ever, especially when you consider many go for $200+ and they aren’t as cute, but this cabinet was a little more difficult to assemble and it is particle board, so it’s not the greatest. The hanging file rods are also round and I think they would work better if they were flat. The hanging file folders slip off the round rods easily. Hope this helps!

Very Nice RTA Filing Cabinet
Be forewarned: This IS an RTA piece of furniture. If you do not know what RTA is, you might not want to buy it. If you have done a few Ready To Assemble (RTA) pieces of furniture--SUCCESSFULLY--then there is nothing about this that is any more challenging. From start to finish, I had this together in two hours. That time included unboxing and inventorying the parts. That does not include the time that I spent on one of the sliders. Its bearings came out and I needed to put it back together. More on that in a minute. If you have not done RTA before, it is vitally important that you inventory and sort all of your parts BEFORE you assemble anything. You might be missing parts and it really stinks to be half-way through a project and have to stop and order the missing part from the vendor. I've never had to pay for a missing part, but it does mean that the piece of furniture sits there half-done for a few days. That's a bummer. So inventory first, before you start. Also, an organized pile of parts makes the assembly process so much easier. The second tip: If you don't have one, go get a power screw driver WITH an adjustable clutch mechanism. DO NOT WASTE your money on something that doesn't have a clutch. Your assembly will go so much quicker with the power screwdriver and your wrist will thank you. The clutch prevents you from over tightening the screws, which prevents the stripping out of the wood screw holes. A solid assembly does not require an immense amount of torque be applied to each screw.Third tip: The goal is to set the clutch so that the screw head makes contact with the surface, snug, and the clutch releases. Start the clutch at its lowest setting and work your way up to the right setting. The setting will likely change with different sizes of screws. Here's a comparison of a screw driver without a clutch to one with a clutch. Both are available, here on Amazon:BLACK+DECKER LI2000 3.6-Volt 3-Position Rechargeable Screwdriver -- This one does not have a clutch. At least it is not listed as a feature. Although it looks like it has a clutch, it is actually a switch for locking the spindle so that you can use the screwdriver in manual mode. I would not suggest this one for this project.Black & Decker PD600 Pivot Plus 6-Volt Nicad Cordless Screwdriver with Articulating Head -- This one does have a clutch. It is listed as part of the product's features. You can also see that the ring around the bit is numbered. That is a good indicator that this one has a clutch. It is only a few more dollars and for the extra money, it will help prevent the stripping of the screw holes in the wood.If you want to look at other options, I did a search on "cordless screwdriver clutch" or "battery screwdriver clutch".If you have a few bucks to spend, I'd suggest looking at: "DEWALT DCF680N1 8V Gyroscopic Screwdriver". It has two options: one or two batteries. For ten more dollars, get the two battery option. Nothing beats having a second battery, that is fully charged. When you are assembling the cabinet, make sure that you carefully note the orientation of the main cabinet's side panels (which one is the left panel, and which is right). Make sure that you are putting them on the correct side. They can be accidentally reversed and if that is done, you will find out later that the half of the drawer sliders, that attach to the inside of the panels, will not match up with the other half of the sliders, that are attached to the sides of the drawers. I was not paying attention and put the panels in upside down. So when I went to put the drawers in, the sliders would not match up. I literally had to switch the two panels around and then the drawers fit it just right. The rest of the kit cannot be accidentally reversed.Once the cabinet was assembled, I put the drawers in. The top three went in without a hitch. For whatever reason, the bottom one decided to be a pain in the rump and the ball bearings came out of one of the sliders. I took it apart by taking the rubber stop off of the end that is attached to the side of the cabinet. With the rubber stop removed, I was able to slide back in the extension, adding ball bearings to each of the holes, just before they were slid back in. If you don't have the patience, you might just contact the vendor and have a new slider sent out. Once all of the ball bearings were reinstalled, I reinstalled the rubber stop and for whatever reason, the drawer just slide right in like the other three. VOILA! Job completed. It is a nice looking cabinet. I am able to use the traditional green hanging folders, using the hardware that is built into the drawers. I just measured one of the drawers and it is 14-1/2" in depth (front to rear), inside measurement. So you might be able to buy a legal hanging rack that could fit, but it would be tight. This cabinet is definitely set up for the use of hanging folders that hold 8-1/2" x 11" though. So all you need to buy are the hanging folders.I really like the look of it. The dark finish and handles match other pieces of furniture that I have. Once it is all assembled, it fells very solid. If you have small kids, I would strongly suggest attaching it to the wall using the bracket that is provided in the kit. I could see where this could tip over if a child is climbing on it. The other option: buy two and attach them together in the back.So I do feel comfortable with strongly recommending this product. It is not any more difficult to assemble than any of the other RTA furniture pieces that I have worked on in the past. It uses the same assembly procedures as other manufacturers. So the process will feel very familiar. If you don't have a battery powered screw driver WITH A CLUTCH, buy one as part of this purchase. You will use it on so many other things around the house. You'll wonder why you did not get one sooner. And it makes assembling this project so much easier.Good luck!UPDATE 2018 11 25:I was rearranging my office and had to move the filling cabinet. There's a trick to removing and reinstalling the drawers. There is a small black tab, inside of each track. As you face the cabinet, pull out the drawer and look on the right side. The black tab is pushed DOWN. On the left side, it is pushed UP. This action releases the drawer lock so that it can slide all of the way out. (See pictures of the left side.)

Beware...Cheaply made.
I was expecting a little better quality for the money. I’ve put together plenty IKEA like furniture items and this one is definitely a step below the level of quality of most. Fit and finish isn’t great. The hardware is cheap. The file hanger rods are too far apart for the hanging files to sit properly. The cam locking hardware is overall poorly done. Several of the end blew out in the particle board when they were screwed in. This caused the top and bottom to not seat properly causing a gap between the boards. The entire thing has an extremely strong odor coming off of it even days after assembly. I’m not sure if it’s the paint or the particle board.Overall I’m not impressed. It’ll work as a temporary solution. Spend 100 more and get a better quality unit imo.

Not Sturdy & Not White!
First for the price and the fact that there aren't many filing cabinets that look like a nice piece of furniture it's not bad. But I am very disappointed! The filing cabinet is a very unsturdy piece of furniture, it is all the cheap particle board and when put together it will wobble. It reminds me of the college furniture you put together, some call it walmart furniture. Then let's talk about the color "antique white" is not at all white! Not even close to what the picture shows nor what it says. I was expecting white. I have a lot of white furniture, and fabrics and this is not white at all. It's a tan, a beige, an almost yellowish color. I was really hoping for a white. This listing should say it's not white but a beige, tan, or cream color. With that all said I could have returned it, but choose not to as I was on a budget and needed a filing cabinet since my metal one got all bent up from moving from MS to VA. I put everything out of my two drawer cabinet into this 4 drawer cabinet, but was quite nervous due to the wobbles it had. It has held everything and then some, to my surprise. I hate looking at the color. So come spring time this piece will go outside with light sanding and a bright white oil based paint and get painted to match my decor.

Poor quality. Not a good buy.
I have purchased and assembled dozens of pressboard items over the years, but this is by far the biggest piece of junk ever. Some pieces stratched, hardware is cheap and brittle, drawer handles look like plastic. Drawers are very fussy and hard to keep on their tracks. Drawer tracks came slathered in sticky, nasty grease that inevitability gets on the cabinet and is hard to remove. I'd return this in a heartbeat if I wanted to go through the hastle of disassembling and packing up.

Does not fit the hanging folders
Cabinet looks nice and wasn't terrible to assemble, although the information was wrong. But the major I have is that it doesn't fit a letter-sized hanging folders. This seems like such an elementary mistake so I'm disappointed in this product.
