62% output of old/OEM Sony lamp with 3200 hours on it and only 30% of that OEM lamp when new.
Bought this Sony LMP-H202 "MWave" lamp from Exclusive Bulbs.Tested output on April 14, 2018This "MWave" lamp bought from Exclusive Bulbs exhibits very poor brightness with far less output than my old genuine Sony lamp that has over 3200 hrs on it. Wattage of the new lamp is unknown as that info is not stamped on the bulb, however actual brightness testing with a digital LUX meter shows this new lamp output is just a fraction of what a new, genuine OEM Sony LMP-H202 should be.Based on my testing detailed below, this MWave lamp is only 62% as bright as my old Sony lamp that has 3200 hours use. FWIW, this is the second "MWave" lamp I've received and tested from this item page and both have proven far to sub-optimal to use. Basically, this "new" lamp on HI setting = my old OEM Sony lamp (@3200 hours use) on LOW setting. Not good! The test setup and information posted here is to demonstrate a direct comparison of this MWAVE lamp vs my OEM Sony lamp (w/3200 hours use on it).NEW "MWave" LAMP (from Exclusive Bulbs)======================================= LUX LUMENSLOW 49 163HI 80 267------------------------------------------------------------------For comparison, here are my test results from a GENUINE OEM SONY lamp on the same day & exact setup:------------------------------------------------------------------CURRENT/OLD OEM SONY LAMP (3200 HRS on it)================================= LUX LUMENSLOW 79 263HI 127 423---------------Historic:My same GENUINE SONY lamp when brand new and in a lower output mode CINEMA1-low1:* note, setup was close but cannot state it was exactly the same.================================= LUX LUMENSLOW 181 603HI 289 963=======================================================Here are my test parameters...- IRE:100 generated from Lumagen Radiance XS- LUX measured 12" fixed position from screen.- projector throw distance = 15'3" (183").- 110" diagonal (54" x 96" 16:9 screen).I am giving up on these cheap lamps and going to source another genuine OEM Sony lamp to get the proper output per spec which is approximately 3x brighter.

Not Completely as advertised, but at the lower price is servicable so far.
OK - so I have used this bulb in my Sony HW30-ES projector for a couple of weeks. There are a couple of things that I would like to initially point out that make this Amazon listing dishonest - at worst - and misleading at best.1 - The title of the ad says "Original Bulb and Generic Housing". That might be accurate as the bulb is marked as being the "Phillips TOP UHP" like the original bulb. However, the two bulbs do not look identical at all. The markings on the new one are much poorer quality and the overall bulb has a different color and different stickers than the original. Also - the "seller's" answer at the top of the Q&A says that the "Bulb is Phillips and Housing is Sony, made in Japan". This is inaccurate as the housing is clearly not made by Sony in Japan. (See attached photos comparing new vs. original)2 - The screens on the side of the housing are different. The original had a much finer mesh screen than this replacement. Not sure if that could impact performance or bulb life. (see attached photo comparison)3 - The housing in the new bulb is not CE marked. Perhaps that's not an issue for sale into the US, but this does mean that the bulb may not be tested to the same safety standards.(see attached photo comparison of bottom of housing)Performance-wise, I can say that the bulb is much brighter than the previous bulb at the end of it's life (I used the last one until it died - about 2 years or so). However, when using in bright scenes on the "Game" setting with a PS4 game, I did have two instances within a couple of hours where the screen flickered - i.e. the screen went black for a second or two. I have not noticed this when feeding it a normal HDMI video signal via by Fios box or Apple TV on the "Cinema" setting. There's a chance this was just an HDMI comms glitch from my PS4 as it has been acting up a little, but still something I am going to keep an eye on.At the end of the day, I am giving this three stars as I don't believe it is the same build quality as the original Sony bulb and housing. However, it seems to be performing OK for me.I will come back and update this review to a lower number if the life of the bulb appears to be lower than anticipated or if the flickering gets worse and becomes an issue.

"Original Bulb and Generic Housing" - not sure what that ...
"Original Bulb and Generic Housing" - not sure what that means, I should have read that carefully before I bought.....once I saw the package I had too many questions about the Original part of it......... I will update the review as time goes by....Update: I figured out what "housing" it means ... screwing back proved to be a little tricky.... screws just don't get the right positioning easily but it could be just me. I turned it on, everything was fine and colors were amazing..... I updated the review from 3 to 4 starts..... and after 300 hours I may get back to it...Thank you for your bulbs !

Great lamp and it uses the Phillips OEM blub
Great lamp and it uses the Phillips OEM blub. Looks great and just as bright as the OEM did when first installed. Much better than the $60 lamp I tried the first time.

Nice picture and easy to install
Nice picture and easy to install. I bought two by mistake and retailer was cool with the return policy, but we use it so much for Xbox One and movies that I decided to keep it as a backup.

Amazing quality. Got exactly what I wanted
Amazing quality. Got exactly what I wanted. Picture looks just like the original bulb that came with the projector. I will only be buying this one from now on. I wasted my time and money on one of the generic brands and will never do that again
