Max Lucado has outdone himself!!!
Words fail me when i try to think of how to describe this book. I have enjoyed all of his books, but this one is totally outstanding!!! You will get more out of one chapter than many ministers can preach from the pulpit! (not being disrespectful) He takes each day before Jesus is crucified, and the messages are astounding!! I try to reach no more than 2 chapters at a time to allow them to delve deep into my heart and soul. Mr Lucado also clarifies scripture in a way you may not have understood it in the past. For example, why Jesus became angry with the fig tree and condemned it. That had always made me wonder why Jesus would get angry with a tree, but the message is there through Mr Lucado's writing. I also intend to re-read it the week leading up to Good Friday. Mr Lucado writes his books in simple language, no "theological" wording. Anyone can read this book and understand his points. More importantly, his words will touch your heart and soul and send you to your Bible to read more!!

Makes me think in New ways
Max is a great writer and powerful storyteller. That he chooses to write and tell the story of Jesus is a blessing to us readers. He makes me see the last week of Jesus's life in New and fresh ways.

Awe inspiring!
I am only half way through this book because it has so many gems to research. It is awe inspiring the sacrifice Jesus made for all of us sinners. It will bring you to tears that he and Jehovah could love us this much!

Jesus Final Days
This is a fantastic book. I love the way Max Lucado writes and can explain things along with intertwining proper Bible verses that fit. He does a great job of pulling us in and feeling what Jesus must have felt like prior to his crucifixion.

This is a good author and he gives the reader some new ways ...
This is a short book that is based on the final week of Jesus before He is crucified. It is well-written and completely based on Scripture. This is a good author and he gives the reader some new ways of looking at the end of Jesus's life on earth.

Disappointing
I have been struggling to get through this book for sometime. I eventually gave up. It's too much storytelling and not enough on spiritual understanding of Scripture.

Don't keep this just for holy week, it works better as a general Lenten meditation book
Personally I didn't think this book was really my cup of tea at all at first glance… There were a few places in his book which did contribute to my Lenten reading like when he was talking about washing of the feet at the Last Supper or when Jesus and his disciples were on the road from Jericho to Jerusalem but on the whole I found it a little too generalised from the point of view of using this book to help me prepare myself spiritually for holy week in particular… although it was interesting to read these stories that he interweaves throughout this book instead of helping me to focus on the events of holy week I felt I was just taking a series of detours away from holy week with all of the modern day stories that were in it so I'll not be reading it again just for this particular week… If I had used it as a general Lenten meditation book I think it would definitely have had more of an impact on me by reading only a chapter a day instead of trying to jam it all into a little over one week.(Although the subtitle of this book says "the final week of Jesus" the 1st day that is covered is the Friday just before holy week commences.)

A book for those who want to walk the last steps of Jesus while on this earth.
This book came on time, packed well, and although pre used, is in very good condition. A very well written, thought provoking read, I am only a few chapters in, and can't put it down.Max Lucado takes the reader a step at a time as Jesus sets his face towards his last days, and the cruel death he suffered.
