"Their strengths are passion, imagination, and hope."This was such a good read! Our Future by Janet Wilson is an inspiring read about kids around the world taking action to solve the world's problems. It is proof that your age does not matter when it comes to activism and wanting to make the world a better place. There are so many different examples about what kids from many different countries have done already or are doing now. The illustrations are absolutely breathtaking. I can't wait to read this with children and show them examples of strong role models. I want to use this book to help them feel empowered and like they can tackle any issue in the world.Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Slightly boring, but totally inspirational (a teen review)
The text of Our Future shows how young adults are taking action on some of the world’s biggest problems. Between racism, non-potable drinking water, and a severe decline in the climate, kids are learning to take action. As a teen, I found this book very interesting and motivational. The book talks about how a majority of the adults in our world are by-passing the problems facing our world leaving it to the children of the world to fix it. I thought that this book was great because it really opened my eyes to the main problems our world is facing. This book wasn’t the type of book that put you down or make you feel bad for what the earth has turned into, this is why I liked this book so much because it did it in an inspiring way. As an introductory piece, they use an excerpt from a traditional folktale, this was one of my favorite parts because it was so creative and eye-opening. Also, every page in the book has a new person to talk about, this helped me to better understand what that specific teen is working to change Throughout the book as well, all of the young adults they choose are not all from one specific place, there are kids from Indonesia, Kenya, the United States, Canada, and even more places across the world. It showed that the same problems are occurring all over the world. The book never focused on just one problem it focused on all of them which truly added to the book. The book Our Future is extremely motivational. I highly suggest that a young adult should read this book.(from my student Annie P.)
