Easy setup, no communication issues, great system
As a new member of WeatherUnderground I spent hours looking at various Personal Weather Stations of every stripe and I kept coming back to this unit with the IP-100.I liked the fact that this had a significantly larger battery and a serious solar collector. Most of the other units had a the smaller 1.5 batteries and a very small solar collector; my experience with with this arrangement has not been good in the past.Communication between the senor and the IP-100 and shown display was amazingly simple. I plugged everything in and the wireless senor arrayed was quickly found. The sensor array weight 7 lbs.I mounted it on a pole attached to a fence post.Overall I am extremely pleased with this system

waste of money
I purchased the solar powered mk III in July 2010. When I Received the unit the wind direction did not work right and rainwise replaced the wind speed/direction part which I had to install. The highest wind speed recorded on the unit in over 2 years is 44 mph. I have been through 2 cat 1 hurricanes including Sandy. It is installed 3 feet above my roof so we know the wind speed is inaccurate. As soon as the two year warranty was over the dew point part failed. It now shows -40 so the humidity is no longer valid at zero percent. Now at various times of the day the display no longer receives information from the unit, all it shows are dashes. It seems to be doing it more frequently so I guess it will not be too long before it goes. However the temp is accurate. I wrote to rainwise and told them what a piece of junk it was for $1000 but they failed to respond, I guess they already know. I think they want hundreds of dollars to extend the warranty to five years now I know why.
