SpellbindersS5-055 Shapeabilities Layered Poinsettia Etched/Wafer Thin Dies

I have several different poinsettia dies from different manufacturers, and this Spellbinders set is by far the most realistic looking. I've used this set at least a dozen times this year for my holiday cards, and the results are always wonderful.I use them with a Sizzix Big Shot cutting machine, and I use the Spellbinders embossing pads Spellbinders W-023 Enlarged Embossing Pads for Wizard Cutting and Embossing System in a second pass to get the embossed detail you see in the picture above. I cut the petals, then without taking the cut paper out of the die, I run it through the machine a second time with the Spellbinders embossing pads added to the sandwich. Works not only for this die set, but for any of the Spellbinders dies that include embossable detail.I like that I can layer as many layers as I need to get the size I want. I don't usually use the centers included in this set, however; I prefer to use Stickles (glitter glue) Ranger ISG-33745 Ice Stickles Glitter Glue, 1-Ounce, Gold.Very happy with this set -- highly recommended!

What an easy way to do a Christmas card! So many looks: with different colors, with bling, shading the prominent vein ares and use some or prart of the flower dies or just one die!Using the petals and leaves for other non-holiday cards is a bonus.Still haven't found a use for the tri-circles outside of putting them inside the petals, but I'm still working on that.The plant veins emboss very well making muted or deep shading possible. Leavng it just plain is just as beautiful.I can also use the "flowers" as individual leaves.I really was hesitant to buy a "Christmas die" unless I would be able to use it year round and found that I could.Also, it really makes such beautiful holiday flowers, I couldn't resist.

The design and intricate cutting are what made me choose this die. Wish I had known this die has a corresponding stamp when I ordered it. It would be nice to market matching die packs and stamp packs at the same time, or feature them as a special purchase.The leaf is oversized for the flower; I ended up using the larger leaf, but was not thrilled with the size difference. The die makes one spectacular flower if you form it gently and darken the edges. Can't wait to get the stamp now. It's one of the nicest dies I've purchased in a long time...

After comparing several different Poinsettia dies I settled on this one. This one isn't too big for a card and there are so many different ways to layer to make it different sizes or height. It also can be used as a regular flower for all year. The dies cut out well. I don't go through the trouble of embossing because I shape the layers and it just mashes the embossing out. The shaping gives the flower dimension making it a bit more realistic, IMO. I don't know why, like other reviewers, they included the centers much less 2 of them. Just a waste. I did get the matching stamps to go with this die but didn't use it as it made the flowers a bit busy for what I put them on. I may not use them at all because they are difficult to line up.

I just gave 3 stars for value for the price just because I saw it on sale afterwards and sometimes is worth waiting g so you can get a better price. But it was really nice, my christmas cards were amazing!!

This die set is very pretty and will make nice poinsettias for Christmas cards, but it is smaller then I expected it to be. I guess all of spellbinders dies are that way. At least it has been my experiences with my choices. It is a matter of taste and what you like. The dies are well made and do a good job.

I love these dies. I bought Spellbinders Dies to use them with my Big Shop. I love them. They cut like butter. They are beautiful. The biggest flowers measures around 3 inches. I wish they come in bigger sizes so I can use them to make hair clips flowers for my Grand daughter. I recommend Spellbinders Dies to anybody that loves crafts.

Me gustó que corto el fieltro como un papel, súper bien y para detalles muy lindos navideños. Aquí no use la más grande, así que queda aún un poco mayor. Está hermosa

No es lo que yo pensaba. Pero luego la verdad es que las utilicé mucho en Navidad. Pero tienes que comprar la máquina para troquelado

Die Blätter sind zwar nicht so schön, aber der Weihnachtsstern dafür umso schöner. Die Blätter versteckt man halt etwas und läßt nur die Spitzen rausschauen. 😉
