The foam around the cone of my 45 year old speaker had turned to dust, I was unable to source new 8" speakers as the frame size is odd so as a last resort I tried this product, not doubting the product but doubting my dexterity in getting the alignment and choosing the "glue".The product 8" is black rubber, well made and supple, it felt right for the job and a good price hence 5 star. The glue to buy separate needs to be flexible and allow some movement before it sets, preferably black, I used "Black Witch" Neoprene cement from Amazon, it is for wet suit repairs, it seems technically perfect. The hard bit is in the prep work, removing the old stuff without creasing the cone, then it's the glue which by nature is difficult to apply, the critical part is alignment so the cone can move without rubbing on the core. I can't fault this product in this size or my choice of glue, however I would say the job requires great patience and dexterity, it has saved me a fortune, well worth the gamble. If the deteriorated speakers are available as direct replacement at a reasonable cost, I would go that route. Good 5 star products and good luck.

Someone needs to correct the description.Not foam rubber. Only buy if you want to replace relatively heavy rubber surrounds.

Frankly, I did not use these. They have to be glued to the loudspeaker cone and the rest of the loudspeaker. The type of glue is not identified nor is it supplied with these rings. I think it better to just buy complete new loudspeakers and mount them in the original cases. One word of warning, originally, the connectors for loudpseakers were identical. However, some one has had the bright idea of preventing one from connecting the wires the wrong way round! Hence one either has to change the connectors in the case or make a coupling link.

Quando si ha in casa da più di 40 anni due casse AR 90 con quattro woofer e due mid bassi, diventa un vero problema la periodica ribordatura degli altoparlanti, per l'elevato costo della riparazione. Ogni 10 anni circa, infatti, il foam che fa da supporto tra la membrana dell'altoparlante ed il cestello, si deteriora sbriciolandosi. Far eseguire la riparazione nei laboratori specializzati costa quanto l'acquisto di due buone casse acustiche. Con un po' di perizia e buona pazienza, si può fare da se ad un costo particolarmente economico. Questi anelli in foam si sono rivelati eccezionali per questo utilizzo
