Daniel Tiger'S Neighborhood: Tiger-Tastic

This DVD set is a great value! My son loves Daniel Tiger and really gets into his show. If you've never see Daniel Tiger before, it's a show aimed at preschoolers (and toddlers) that airs on PBS. It teaches manners, how to handle emotions, the importance of going potty right away, object permanence and the other things that little tykes tend to struggle with. Overall this show is well done and is done in the style of Mister Roger's neighborhood (you'll recognize the tun of the theme song).My favorite thing about the show is that each episode features a catchy, easy to sing and easy to remember song that reminds children of the lesson of the episode. My son is three and he loves these songs and we sing them whenever he encounters a life situation that mirrors the purpose of the song. For example- "if you have to go potty stop- and go right away. Flush and wash and be on your way!" Some of the song messages are even shorter or can be shortened, such as "grown-ups come back."The episodes also make good conversation pieces- "have you ever wanted something that someone else has?"PBS Kids has some of their shows available for instant play with your cable provider but Daniel Tiger isn't one I've found. Because of this and because my son loves the show so much, I found this three DVD pack to be a great value. If you have a young boy or girl that's learning manners, life skills and how to cope with their emotions- this is a worthy purchase. A bonus- Daniel Tiger is much less whiny than Caillou, and expresses his emotions in a simple manner that the target audience can understand and empathize with.

The show itself I give 5 stars! For a family like ours that travels a lot, this set worked great. (Several hours of daniel tiger makes it easy to entertain a 1 yr old on a 6 hour car ride.) My complaint is that with this set they stack all 3 DVDs on top of each other. (Picture included to show what I'm talking about.) It is a little tight to pull the DVDs out without cracking them. Unfortunately while on a trip my oldest tried to put the movie in for the baby and the dvd snapped while trying to get it out of the case. Thankfully it was easy to replace, was sold as an individual dvd when we looked it up. But still sucks it broke right after we bought it due to it being a bit tight to pull the DVDs out. Also, tends to be a pain not scratching them if the movie you want is at the bottom of the stack. Wish they wouldn't have went this route for the case. Other 2 have small cracks in them..so I have to be extra careful to get them out. Had this part been different I would definitely give this a 5 star rating. The episodes on this set are great! Are personal favorite is the "lifes little lessons" dvd. My son loves the "pick up" & "potty" songs.

Everything was fine with the product and delivery so I did give it 4 stars. However, I was not pleased with the product itself.The product description did not list the episodes on the DVD's. I expected some overlap with episodes on the couple of DVD's we already have, but with it being a 3 pack of DVD's I would expect a lot more episodes. There are only 4 episodes on each DVD, whereas another one that we have has a lot more... so it seems to be a bit of a ripoff that they didn't fill the DVD's to capacity.Every single episode in the 3 pack is already on the 2 we have. This isn't the fault of the seller, but I thought I'd mention that.

Edit: The episode I thought was missing is located in special features, not with the other episodes.We love these DVDs. Everything is in working and new condition however, I was disappointed to see the “Big Feelings” dvd doesn’t include the bonus episodes “Daniel Gets Mad” and “Katrina Gets Mad” that we’re described in a previous review. You have to buy that DVD individually to get those episodes.

Hard to get hold of in the UK, Daniel Tiger has a great mix of friendly characters, lessons to be taught, catchy songs (honestly I still have the potty song in my head) and interactivity. I bought this specifically because we are potty training our two year old and wanted to reinforce the messages. He has come and actually sang the potty song to us so something is working. There is also a good episode reassuring kids that adults sometimes have to leave but they do come back. Whilst this would/should never replace good parenting, it is very definitely a good parental aid.

really great DVD for teaching 3-4 year olds about feelings and how to deal with them. Nothing scary, no confrontation and lots of hugs which is great for my rather sensitive child. It is really hard to find anything he can watch without getting upset. These episodes are wonderful!!!

The first disk in the three pack was broken for me. Amazon is processing an exchange. I e always had good customer service Thru them.This show is great! Really a good show for toddlers, shows about how to deal with big emotions, sharing, pottying and has great little songs and rhymes that I started using with my 2.5 yr old to deal with those situations in real life. My son with spontaneous sing these tunes. I feel like this is good tv, rather then the usual junk that's on tv. Is good for showing different races and genders in roles that are not typical.

My son absolutely loves this! He loves Daniel Tiger and with 3 DVD's and 5 hours of content we can be sure that he wont get bored of every episode and my wife and I like the messages the show provides too. Depending on your mood the songs getting stuck in your head can either be a positive or negative haha
