Rock solid and easy to use
I was worried that this connector would satisfy the building inspector, but not help the deck post Well was I wrong. the inspector could have cared less. the deck posts were rock solid. These come with all the special screws which drive easily. The only thing to buy is 1/2" bolts and/or rods. You will also need a longer drill bit for some situations. I had some connections where the bolts worked fine. And I had some where longer threaded rods were needed. A 48" long threaded rod from Home Depot was cut as needed for the longer lengths, easy. Glad I had bought extra, they came in handy on a small porch job the next week, not code required but made the work easier and better.

Meets new deck code.
Decent price if you can find them at the local box store there a little bit less. The new code calls for one of these down a third going through the perimeter joist and post bolted to a floor joist if it is in line with the post, or block and add a second tie. You'll need Half inch carriage bolts nuts washers and a drillbit Long enough to go through.

Well engineered and built brackets for deck and other wood to world tie downs.
Geez Im going through these too fast. The contractors really like them. I think they are using them to hold their trucks together instead of really sold wood to strong support bolting purposes. Plus Simpson has all that engineering data on line so you can see you to use them correctly and generally keep the building dept happy. They like Simpson silver too, way more than you would think.

Solid (pricey) Product
Excellent product. Does the job. The number of lag bolts is a little excessive but better more than less. They are very pricey however. Especially if you have a large deck. You also have to plan your deck structure around them so that your posts line up with your joists.

Five Stars
This is the best price I've found on these. Used them to support the railing on our new deck.

Packaging as strong as the product!
They could use a little more offset to clear the joist hangers by the connecting bolt. Also, a better way of connecting the bag of screws and washer to the Tie must be used. The plastic rivet cannot be separated from the Tie without a grinding tool to grind/melt the flat side until it can be pulled through the hole with pliers.
