Stop Flats2 Road Bicycle Tire Liner

Great Product, Tricky Installation For Me
Bought this since I had 2 flats in 2 bike rides locally around my area. Seems as if the streets are dirtier than normal with nails, glass, and debris. Plenty of companies make tire liners, and the reviews for this were good, so I took a shot with them.Product itself is 5 stars - works just as advertised and haven't had flats for 2 weeks now after numerous bike rides with them. The reason for the 4 star review is that the installation was trickier than expected. The liners tend to deviate inside the tire even after carefully lining it up in the tire more than 1 cm either way. I think there are a couple solutions (not in the instructions) that would work for people having issues. The first approach I read online would be to add a small amount of rubber cement to the tire to glue the liner in place, just enough to hold it centered before adding the tube. A second approach I read would be to use the inner tube to help hold the liner in place.I used this second approach with limited success, as most bikes require the tubes to be fairly flat when adding the tire to the rim. Since the liners require inflated tubes to hold it in place, and I had to flatten the tubes to get the tire in place, I wasn't certain that the liners were centered. I lacked rubber cement to try the other approach, so I left the tire liners as is. To date though, I haven't had another flat, so maybe they were installed centered enough. If anyone has suggestions to install the liners better, please let me know.

Great product. Thank you
My urban commute takes me down the streets of San Francisco and along a frontage road. This is 17 miles of glass, rocks, twigs and an occasional nail. Before getting this liner, I had a flat a week. I still carry four spare tubes. After installing these liners, no flats (knock on wood). If you ever had to fix a flat in the rain at night, you would pay extra for this thing. Here's the latest hole that should have resulted in a 20 minute delay, but didn't because of the liner. Great product. Thank you.

Don't bother, poorly configured
OK, maybe I'm missing something. But I don't think so. I've read the instructions several times. The issue is that one is supposed to take this tightly wound coil and somehow get it to adhere or become part of one's tire without any adhesive. Bzzzzzzt..............Fifteen years ago I bought my mountain bike and paid extra for flat preventing liners. They were a thin Kevlar liner and they worked great. I never had a puncture flat except for one that came in from the unprotected are. I searched and search for the same, could not find, bought this junk. As irony would have it, after this fiasco and looking once more, I found what I wanted. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U1W8FO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 While not clear, they basically come in two sizes, road bike and mountain bike. Yes, more expensive, but they work and I moved them from one tire to another several times. Just pull out of the tire, use some spray adhesive, and you are good for another tire lifetime.Don't waste your money. Get what works for years to come.

Glad I have it, but not perfect
Well, my husband got these after two flats in his first 300 miles... I got my first flat after over 2000 miles so he put liners in mine too since I use it to get to work everyday....In less than 200 miles I get a front tire flat... we couldn’t find anything wrong outside; he looked inside; the tape that holds the liner in place had a sharp edge and Apparently when I hit a bump and everything was in just the right place it slit the inner tube...I still recommend them; but be very careful about the tape, make sure it is smooth, remove any excess material etc.

Pros and Cons
I bought this Liner after getting 6 flat tires in 1 month in combination with the Avenir Thorn Resistant tubes. It works great. I ran over 5 thorns and just pulled each one out. Another time, I ran over 20 thorns, 10 in front tire, 10 in rear tire. After I got home, the tube deflated slowly over night because it was flat in the morning. This is probably the better option because the Avenir Thorn resistant tubes are VERY THICK AND HEAVY. You will feel it. It fills like someone put 20 lbs weights on each wheel. And you will ride about 2-5 mph slower. Lots of rolling resistance with those tubes. The solid tube tires are even worse. To alleviate this problem inflate to max air lbs. I've since put back the regular tube in the rear tire with this Liner. And now it's so much faster and perfect combination. I left the front tire with the Avenir Tubes and this Liner Just in case. Plus if the thorn hits you on the side, you're hosed because the liner only works on the contact side of the center of the tire. Good Luck!

does what its supposed to do
If you value not having flats over having the lightest wheel around, this is a great product. While weight added to the outside of a wheel is the worst place for wheel performance, you should not get flats using this product unless like a dog bites your tire. I had a bike I got used and it kept getting flats on the back wheel, but not the front, and years later I changed tires and discovered the reason I never got flats in the front wheel was likely because it was equipped with a tire liner like this! So I un-knowingly did a 'control' test. I've also had good luck with the Kelvar belted tires. However, this lets you choose tires more freely and you can rest easier that you won't have a flat. For me, not having to stop and fix a flat is worth maybe being a second or two slower for a mile or whatever the penalty is. 99% of the people I know who ride even fairly seriously also would not be impacted by them, although I can't convince everyone.

Don't expect anything from customer service.
I bought the orange liners for my road bike 2 years ago, and so far they are reliable enough for day to day street riding. I have only had one flat, and it was a slow leak. It kept my tires working long enough to stop and find a gas station.Stop flats guarantees if you ever get a flat they will give you a new set of liners and a tube, but this is not the case. I sent the same product TWICE to the address on their website, but I had the package returned to me by USPS. Customer service was not responsive to my emails also. Overall good product, but bad customer service.

Brilliant investment
These are faultless and easy to fit. Have used them in a range of bikes. Have them on two bikes I use for daily 15km commute to work and weekend rides and so far no punctures. Got these for my partners bike. Save yourself a lot of trouble and get these.

Keeps older-tech tires from going flat
For a set of tires that don't have puncture resisting features, this is perfect. It's tricky to install, but once fitted with an inner tube and then placed onto the rim, it holds it's place. The tire seems to roll smoother down the road (I suppose it takes some of the resiliency out of the tire, but I barely notice that at all, if that's the case). Well worth it.
