MALWARE ALERT!!!!!
After looking at several tablets on Amazon for a month, I finally decided on the Dragon Touch Y88X for basically the same reason as everyone else who bought it... It got TONS of great reviews on Amazon and was very reasonably priced. Not sure how it gets so many good reviews, other than the fact that the company sends you a FREE GIFT if you give them a good review on Amazon.Forget the free gift, here's my HONEST review.I charged the tablet for the recommended 10 hours before first use, and the battery life on this thing is AWFUL.-The battery depletes by 1% less than EVERY MINUTE.- The tablet randomly shuts off and will not come back on unless you hit reset (power and both volume keys) even if it is fully charged.-It runs extremely slow.. I can't even play Angry Birds without it freezing, which is one of only THREE apps I had installed... plenty of memory left over for it to run properly. All that aside, I thought I would just deal with it UNTIL one day I turned it on and found a bunch of apps I hadn't installed. After removing these apps, they kept coming back every time I turned the thing on.It turns out there is pre-installed malware that you can not get rid of, specifically:'Ten Drops' and 'Likin Hero' by Foxx Games'Insane Stars' by Jun Li'Special Recorder' whose icon looked like the default speech recorder icon, but purple, and would randomly record without me knowing.'Services' whose icon was a red exclamation point in front and to the right of a green fan shape which just led to the wireless & networks screen."DU Speed Booster' and 'DU Battery Saver' that kept "checking" for problems in my system and trying to get me to sign in to Google. The two malware processes that were found and UNABLE to remove were:Troj.cloudsota.z in com.android.popupAndroid.MALWARE.at_cloud.b in GoogleCalenderPluginService.exeI now have to change all my passwords and hope some hacker creeps don't have my bank info. Thanks a lot Dragon Touch.

A bit Slow for a Quad Core.
Bought this as a replacement for my daughters cracked tablet. Out of the box we noticed it was not as responsive as we would have expected. Sometimes it takes awhile for it to respond to screen touches or commands. Not just opening apps (as the apps might be slow) but just trying to go to the home screen or pulling down notifications. I expected more from a Quad Core.My daughter has added only three applications so far as we are wanting to get a bigger memory card to see if that helps before we download much more onto it.Applications seem to run OK on it even if they are slow. No crashing. Eventually it does the job. No issues with watching videos and no extreme buffering so the WiFi speed seems reasonable. Set up was quite easy and it seems pretty durable.ETA: After having this for a few months I have become more disappointed by the day. First I got the SD Card but nothing can be stored on it except for pictures (which is android's fault not the tablet but it does have that version). So the card didn't "expand" the memory really. My daughter uploaded a few games but nothing super intensive or large. However it just kept getting slower and slower, even with about 1/2 the memory left. It was literally taking 2-3 minutes to open a game. There were also "spots" on the tablet that don't seem to respond to touch and unless you hit it just right it would appear the game was "Frozen" but really the screen just wasn't responding. It frusterated her enough she didn't want to play it much. We left it on the counter charging the other day and came home to find a spider web crack up the center leaving 1/2 of the screen unusable. So we finally ditched it and I gave her my old samsung galaxy 3. She is now a happy happy camper. We have the kids version (Y88X) for my son, so I was super surprised the Y88X Plus was actually worse. I got it for the better camera and extra speed but apparently that was an exaggeration. He has no speed problems, his games respond quickly (and he has quite a few loaded on his tablet) - he has thrown it down stairs and dropped it numerous times (same case). So I am just guessing the "Plus" was a ploy to make me think they made it better when actually they made it cheaper :(

Great entry level tablet, especially for the price.
Works great for everything I need it to do, browsing web pages, watching youtube videos, skyping with friends so I had a very positive experience with this as this was my first tablet and I love the convenience it offers.EDIT: I was under the impression bluetooth devices did not work with this that was just my old bluetooth not working, I tested another bluetooth earpiece with this and it worked perfectly after connecting.

this tablet arrived with its operating system "rooted "
Tablet worked fine up the point of using avg software to check for nasties, then avg informed me that the tablet was open to hacking because it was running the android system software in unsecured privilege mode which means the tablet arrived with the software "rooted" already, just prove it was I loaded up Barclays banking app and it would not run on the tablet because of this problem. If you are going to use the tablet for web browsinf and e-book reading Im sure its fine

Not bad for the money....however
8/10 - would have got more, but had an issue with one of the 2 I got, and despite emails asking for help from the makers, no replies at all. Managed to restore it after 2 days of internet searching for a fix (caused by a launcher from the Play store corrupting the firmware) myself. My advice is get it, but do not try to modify the default apps or root the device.

First of all thought it was great for the price but then after a few days ...
First of all thought it was great for the price but then after a few days it slowed right down and no matter how I tried to resolves the problems it got worse. Long storey short its no longer with us. Its in the bin.

Low expectation = no disappointment
I couldn't get it to charge properly. The unit got hot, very quickly. Put it back in the box for when I have time to deal with going through setup etc. On paper it's a great buy, a bargain. I'm sure it'll be fine for the pre-teen it was purchased for.

Five Stars
Very good value for money. Not a perfect product, but for this price it is perfect.
