Heavy
So far I'm not enjoying the book. I must admit my dislike has much to do with how the book is laid out. Very small print and very heavy subject matter. I don't necessarily agree with some of the assertions made, but the essays have given me a chance to work through my own perspectives. Also, race and ethnicity is discussed for the African American perspective. I would have like to have seen more thoughts regarding Mexican Americans and American Indians.

Great Compliation
I thought this book of essays was an amazing way to recognize or realize other cultures or perspectives from ones own. The authors were knowledgeable and well written. It's a great read for those who want to broaden their horizons.

A biased review
Full disclosure: I wrote one of the chapters in this book. But I can say that my fellow contributors have contributed to a book that I have used more and more in my own teaching on culture and race. Many of the chapters - particularly those by Hiebert Meneses, Williams Paris, Jindra, Frederick & Griffen, and K. Priest - have become staples in my teaching repertoire. Anyone teaching on race in a Christian setting or even in a secular context where the focus is on race and U.S. Christianity, this book has many wonderful things to offer. I encourage you to check it out for yourselves.

Excellent... eye opening book!
This is a great book about multiethnicity in America today. I highly recommend it for everyone who wants to learn more about this area. It's an especially good read for those in Christian leadership.
