Very cleverly designed, and very strong while not adding a ton of weight up high on the bike
Background: I like to take long dual-sport motorcycle rides, and my meager riding skills coupled with a curious and adventurous nature lead me situations where my poor motorcycle takes some hits. The stock radiators on my KTM 350 EXC are very soft, and even a couple of pretty mild bike lay downs left me with indications that I had mashed my left radiator out of shape. I wanted strong protection while not significantly reducing air flow and cooling, and I also wanted to keep using my Dirt Tricks fan and the way these guards installs should allow for any/all fan installations.I received my guards (and a couple of other products) from Bullet Proof Designs in Missouri in just a couple of days. I was impressed with the craftsmanship of the parts, and how lightweight all the guards are despite the apparent strength of the construction. The instructions were simple and clear. These go on very easily assuming your radiators aren't already mangled. If they are already bent out of shape, you are going to have to replace them or straighten (or get them straightened) before you are going to be able to put these guards on. I thought mine were still pretty close to original shape and I had to work for a while getting my left radiator pushed/pulled/beat back into shape in order to let me install the guard. This is not the products fault obviously, but something people should be aware of. There are other guards that will likely be more flexible in working around radiators that are pushed out of shape, but none of the ones I looked to offer the same level of strength/integrity of this single piece of material per side configuration.I have ridden and crashed with this item installed. The guards took the hits with no indication of passing any damage on to the radiators.I like well designed and well made stuff, and I feel the price is reasonable. This product warrants 5 stars for me, and I've been very happy with all 3 of the products I've purchased from this company/vendor.
