The Dragonsitter's Castle (The Dragonsitter Series, 3)

The book consists of many stories that start one day and follow the chronology of events. The stories are very short - short letters/emails sent on almost daily or even hourly basis.My 5 year old usually will listen to any story as long as it is "new book". He especially loves dragons and any goofy characters and stories. This one.... he barely listened to couple stories, and lost interest. Honestly, I lost interest after about couple more. Maybe we will re-read it in 2-3 years.The pictures are black&white. The story moves slow and hard to feel excited about. There is part of the story that involves the fact that the kids' parents are divorced and dad has a new girlfriend - I totally did not care for that aspect, and glad I did not have to explain it to 2 and 5 yr old (again, because they showed no interest after couple stories). And I wish I knew that from the text description.

My 6 year old daughter loved these books! She read them in one night! I even enjoyed them and found them quite clever!.

Die Geschichten von dem Jungen, der als Babysitter für die Drachen seines Onkels tätig ist, sind zwar vom Inhalt her teilweise etwas flach/ an den Haaren herbeigezogen, aber das Format ist für lesefaule Grundschüler perfekt. Jede Seite beinhaltet eine E-Mail des Jungen an seinen Onkel oder dessen Antwort, die Menge an Text bleibt daher etwas übersichtlicher, als bei reinen Text-Büchern, ist einfach verständlich und trifft offenbar auch den Humor der Kinder. Für Drittklässler genau das Richtige :)
