'Raffi Radio' follows the format of a kids radio show, complete with plenty of great music, news and interviews. "Sleido Jazz Dog" is Raffi’s co-host, and it’s Sleido's barks, which accompany dialog between some songs, that first appeal to toddlers and pre-school children. Some of the album standouts are "Berry Nice News: Seasons" which teaches children about the 4 Seasons while Vivaldi's Four Seasons plays in the background. Raffi’s rendition of “Skip To My Lou”, with a full children’s chorus, will have the entire family singing along. Raffi Radio explores all different genres of music and mixes in some fun, clever and educational radio "news" between songs too - such as the news about bananas as a new monetary unit. A fantastic release from the world’s most iconic children’s entertainer.

My personal Raffi favorite...
To me, Raffi is the 'child whisperer' of childrens' music. My favorite albums by far are Baby Beluga and Quiet Time (great sleep CD). Raffi Radio is our my third favorite and my daughter and I both love the tunes 'Raffi Radio' and 'Coconut'. 'Every Child' is also a great song that sends a positive message. A lot of Raffi's music has warm and encouraging lyrics which make kids feel welcome in this world. If your kids like to listen to CD recordings of books, they'll probably like this one. There are skits with a funny dog co-host named Sleido Jazz Dog and others, so this one is a little like a music CD/mini show.On this album:1 Opening2 Raffi Radio3 Kitchen Sing Sing4 Berry Nice News- Seasons5 Sunflower6 Roving Reporter7 Sleido's Song8 Silly Panel - Audio9 Coconut10 Weather Report11 Skip to My Lou12 Berry Nice News - Bananas13 Julia14 Ripple of love15 Silly Panel - Time16 Six Little Ducks17 Sax Interview18 Wishing Well19 Whatever You Choose20 Every Child

Not at all what I hoped for.
The entire tape plays like a radio show with a lot of talking and very little music. I thought it would be more up beat, playful, and full of songs my child would love. I am entirely disappointed and can't even give this CD to anyone because they don't want it. :(

Great Format for Listening in the Car
While this isn't the usual Raffi format, my son loves it. He is 8 and slightly autistic. He recently discovered Raffi music from an old CD that we had from when our teenagers were little, and has absolutely fallen in love with all things Raffi. We checked out 3 CD's from the library including this one, and this is now his favorite. I think it appeals to him on several levels--the songs are very well-done, the banter inbetween appeals to his funny little sense of humor, and the whole CD is like listening to a radio station, except it's silly and "his" radio station. I recommend this for older pre-schoolers who are old enough to understand the humor of the talking bits.

Unusual, educational, and entertaining
This one has become a favorite in our house. It's definitely a bit different than a CD with just songs, but my 3 kids all enjoy it and ask to listen to it over and over. They've learned about the water cycle, the word "audio", the seasons, and of course new songs. Perfect for the car.

Boring
Picked this up from the library before I purchased. Songs were boring for all of us (4 & 1.5 year old included.) Would recommend "Singable Songs For The Very Young: Great With A Peanut-Butter Sandwich" over this one.
