I am just beginning to get into acrylics on canvas and so far, I really like this easel. I was a bit nervous about it when I ordered it, since I never saw it up close, but my fears were put to rest once I started using it. It has a whole bunch of adjustments you could make to paint while standing, sitting on a chair etc. You can vary the tilt and height of the canvas with relative ease and the turn-screws that hold moving parts in place are high quality. Unlike the cheaper quality ones, the wood is smooth and does not splinter or crumble and it has a steady center of gravity, i.e. no wobble or anything like that. The little box to put your supplies in (you could put a whole bunch of supplies in, I managed to put my brushes, paints, a book, some pencils, erasers and 4-5 other accessories in the compartment) is very functional and the wooden palette is also pretty neat. Worth the money and the best part: it collapses into a perfectly portable box.

I got this product for my daughter for Christmas, it was shipped promptly and I got it ontime. unfortunately she did not get it until after Christma. The product I received was damaged. One of the two front legs was damaged, the fastener that attaches the leg for transport was ripped loose from the leg and the leg split. The center piece of the top riser that holds your piece in place was also split. I reported to seller and they worked with manufacture and I was informed another let was to be sent. This of course was not going to arrive before Christmas. I was presently surprised when I received a whole other easel. Kudos to the manufacture for replacing the unit with out return. So I kept the damaged easel and gave the good one to my daughter. I was able to use gorilla glue to repair the damage, Gorilla glue would actually glue a gorilla's but to the floor if you can get them to sit still long enough :). As far a durabillity of this products goes: its a beutiful piece of work, neat design, however I dont think it is durable enough to stand up to what it is intended for, folding up, and packing around to remote sites to produce art on. If this is done alot on a regular basis, I dont think it will hold up.

This is a beautiful easel for the price. Appears to be very well made- the wood used is heavy and sturdy. The storage box and carry strap and handle are nice features. Purchased as a first easel for a child artist due to reasonable price.

I bought this for my wife who hopes to get into painting, and ordered it thinking that I'd have a task assembling it. Despite the lack of instructions it was pretty easy and took me all of 10minutes. I imagine the bits that may have given people trouble is the hidden latches that hold all the bits in place while in its 'compact' form. I'd reccomend setting the unit down on a table with the bits for holding the prospective painting face-down. Then pop out the legs and after turning it right-ways-up (and setting it on the floor) unfold the remainder of the easel. It's no high-end piece of furniture, but it looks like it'll do fine.

This product is cheap! We bought one of these for our daughter and within 5 minutes on Christmas morning the piece of crap broke, due to its poor construction. It's made of very weak/soft wood and is easily broken. One of the leg extensions broke on ours while it was just standing there. The easel has little screws to tighten down for the legs to stay in place, but the screws don't stay so you constantly have to tighten them. This was a really bad purchase for us, not worth the money and not worth the hassle.

easel was well packaged, arrived on time, and it works great!doesn't come with set-up instructions but the front 2 legs just pop out to the side with a bit of pressure first, then they unfold easily at the wing nuts, I was nervous to break the leg but turns out there is a small metal bracket attachment for the legs when it is folded. Plus it came with a wood palette and shoulder strap!I am pleased with the purchase.

Took some time to put together out of the box, mostly since it had no instructions. Felt flimsy at first and needed a second person to help hold it together while you tightened the nuts and screws needed to keep it in place.Used it a few times, and had to put it away. Wasn't as difficult closing it, as it was opening it. Opened it up recently and discovered that one of the wood supports split at the screw. As of right now it's still functional, but don't see it lasting much longer unfortunately.

I bought this product for my girlfriend, an avid painter. It's only been in our house now for about 2 weeks, and it seems like a great product, except, as many have already noted, it's a little flimsy. You definitely wouldn't want this in a room where a dog, cat, or playing children may come into contact with it. It seems that, with the slightest nudge, this thing is going over and taking whatever your painting with it. Mine was also missing a few pieces of the hardware (i.e. - screws, nuts, and washers) so I had to get some spares sent from the manufacturer to properly assemble it. There are no assembly instructions included in the box, but I thought it was fairly easy to figure out on my own using the picture on the box itself. However, when I did contact the manufacturer about that hardware, they sent me assembly instructions as well.Aside from all of that, my girlfriend seems to love it. She's cautious with it and always makes sure to close the room off when she's not in there painting to keep our animals out. The price is definitely great on this, just wish it were a little sturdier. My guess is it's ideal for beginner artists and painters.
