UNMASKED: Volume Two Paperback – June 27, 2014

Volume 2 is even better than volume 3! While we learned about Alex, Daimen and the other key players of the story in volume one and were left with a OMG moment, book 2 goes in a whole other direction and expands the story line even more. Do not read this review if you haven't read volume 1 as it may contain spoilers.So Alex did the deed and left the country. She is finally tired of living behind a mask, so she takes it off to become the woman that she really is. Sure she can still kill a grown man without thinking twice about it, however would like to try a be a bit "normal" with her colored hair, eyes and the whole shebang. She picks a small Mexican island, rents a house and continues to try and blend in with the neighbors, even stepping out of her comfort zone a bit.In stepping out, Alex meets some new friends, ones that have you wondering who they really are while reading along. You are on pins and needles the whole time waiting to see who is going to jump out of the woodwork at her. With the lies surrounding her, Alex just doesn't know who she can trust and the minute she lets that guard down, she finds out the hard way she trusted the wrong person again.These books are very hard to review without spoiling crucial plot lines. Just know that in volume 2 Cassia Leo keeps you high strung as you reach for the end the entire time. I cannot finish these books fast enough to see what in the heck is going to happen. Of course it ends with the mother of all cliffhangers, (one I was actually hoping for this time) and we are patiently waiting for book 3 to arrive. They are well written with enough sexy and action to keep you busy. Great series so far!

This is the second volume of a three part serial and should be read in series order.Alex has left the security of the darkness and stepped into the light, embracing what she is and she is so out of her comfort zone. And who can she trust? She should trust no one but in order to blend in you have to have a semblance of trust in people and she is off her game or so it appears. The one she trusts should not be trusted and provides no satisfaction.Though Alex ran far from home she still feels she is being watched and she is. But by whom is the question. The answer should not surprise her for she has regretted her actions and come to understand the meaning of her feelings. We do learn many answers and this reader was pleased with developments towards the end of this volume and not totally surprised for their business is not yet done, and they truly are kindred spirits.We do learn some answers as we ride the new twists that unfold and are left wondering the outcome of a certain meeting in the cliff hanger ending. You have to ask yourself who will survive this time? And there is so much more at stake now. We shall see come volume three as all the threads the author has woven are finally strung together for us.

Like the first book this one is all over the place & a little difficult to follow but hang in there, answers start to come when the book changes to Diamon's POV & Alex's world starts to turn upside down! Alex is now going by the alias Alyssa, hiding out in the Canary Islands, trying to figure out her past. Diamon led her to believe she is the kidnapped daughter of the Princess of Monaco - so ridiculous, but could Diamon be telling the truth & she killed him anyway? Who exactly were her parents then? Now she has time to think & isn't 100% sure she killed Diamon. She is incredibly suspicious of everyone, especially Nicholas, the beautiful Spanish man who befriends Alex. I think since Alex was locked in her basement as a girl, then trapped in her apartment as a young woman, her senses are heightened. She can smell Diamon in her house & on her clothes & it turns her on completely! God knows Nicholas doesn't do anything for her. Alex's world will never be the same - her body is changing, she is out in the open without her thick mask of makeup, & her feelings about Diamon are torn - she called him "my protector & my enemy." Just bought book #3, I can't be left hanging like this right when things are getting good!!

When I read Volume One of this three part series I was left reeling...it was mysterious, sexy and darkly intriguing and YES, I was wanting to know more more more...so many unanswered questions. Is Daimon alive or dead?I got some of my answers in this book for sure...cleared up a few things and left me with more again...LOL!While I was dying on the edge of my seat (and breaking out in a cold/hot sweat) in the first book, this one wasn't quite as steamy or action packed...more just mysterious and creepy...I kept waiting for the bogeyman to jump out and scare Alex...or for Nick to be revealed as something else...and to not spoil things too much...I didn't get to see her and her silent "stalker" come face to face...sigh...so we have to wait for volume three for that.Alex also gets a huge bit of unexpected news as well...something that will definitely change the hearts and minds of all involved in her future life or death situation.If you read Unmasked and wanted to know more...grab this second part now while it's 99 cents...more delicious haunting mystery.**** 4 **** "the smell of death is around you" stars

I have to say this is a gripping tale.Volume 1 came free and I purchased volume 2 immediately.I really do want to read the conclusion. but, and the reason for only four stars is that I consider these to be somewhat short for the cost of them.They only take around an hour to read and I am a little restricted financially right now.I will buy three eventually but why are authors doing this so often now? It doesn't, in my case at least, endear them to you and sadly I won't start another series by any writer who, in my opinion does not give value for money.And yes I know all about writing and publishing - I am just saying.

I couldn't wait to read the next chapter in this series I am so intrigued by the story of Alex and Daimon. It's not your conventional live story it has danger, deciet and lust all rolled into one. Alex knows she didn't kill Daimon but she also is glad she didn't. He is not afraid to show her how to feel unlike her parents. I cannot wait for book 3 to see where the next part of the adventure will take them and what twists lie ahead for them.

Part 2 picked up right where the first one ended off. It was more intense and exciting.She is now in a new place where no one knows who she is. But she still has this fear that someone is watching her.

A brilliant series that will keep you hooked. New characters are emerging and the story is taking new twists and turns. Can't wait for volume 3.

At the end of the first book, you knew where this one was going. Let's see how it all ends in the third.
