This mix of Chinese Carnations will produce flowers of various colors in white-pink-red range about 8 to 20 inch high. Chinese Carnations grow fast, are undemanding and hardy. Under favorable conditions they will bloom from late June to late Autumn.Start indoors approximately 7 weeks before transplanting outside. Fill the boxes with drained nutrient rich soil, scatter the seeds, slightly cover them with soil (as they need light to germinate) and sprinkle with a spray bottle. Cover with glass or plastic wrap and place in a bright place.Keep soil moist. Maintain temperature at between 65-68F before shoots emerge. Afterwards, remove the glass and keep the temperature at between 57-62F. Once thethird leaf appears, place tender shoots into separate containers with a nutrient substrate and once the threat of frost has passed, transplant them outside in drained and nutritious soil and sunny area. The seeds can also be sowed directly outside in a sunny area in preparedfertile and drained soil to a depth of 0.6 inch. Cover with compost, pour overwater and cover with a film until the first shoots appear. Keep the soil moist. After the first shoots appear in about 1-2 weeks, remove protection. After the second or third leaf appears, transplant the plant in flower bed in mulched with peat or sawdust soil. Carnations do not require much water, except during the hot months. To avoid that the plant produces yellow foliage, do not over water. Spray water on the plants instead of splashing.
