This is probably the best thing I've purchased on amazon this year, and I've bought a lot of things. We got an invasion of these miniature house flies (1/2 the size of normal flies), they keep multiplying and killing them doesn't seem to do anything, plus it leaves gross fly guts everywhere. This thing is a KILLING MACHINE! I killed off most of the flies the first day, and now every time I see a fly I chase it and ZAP, it fries instantly in a flurry of noise and light (and smell, sometimes).For anyone having problems, I'd recommend approaching the flies SLOWLY, if you swing too fast, they dodge the hit, but a slow approach has worked much better for me. Sometimes they even run into it.Extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Unlike some other similar designs, the size of the external grid apertures is sufficient for getting even decent sized moths incinerated in short order, but at the same time, the internal wire spacing is small enough to smoke those pesky micro pantry moths. Part of the advantage is that the device is so 'open' that the air is disturbed minimally, so even the lightest of critters isn't going to be blown aside, and will instead find their end in 'Old Sparky'. Very effective, and very easy to use.The only one on the house that isn't thrilled with the net result is the dog; she doesn't much like the loud sound of the very effective 'SNAP'! There must be a heck of a step up transformer in these things.As some have noted, the battery cover is a bit fiddly, but with some effort, it can be returned to a secure position.

This seems to work well!Every fall we get an influx of bugs- notably, wasps and stink-bugs- into our house, and this is more effective than a straight fly-swatter in dealing with them.The 2 layers of mesh, plus the activating button, mean that it is not always on and wearing out the battery (not included).While the stink bugs are gross, the wasps are dangerous to me and our pets. I am happy to have a more effective means to deal with them than me and a paperback.I received this for free in exchange for my unbiased honest review.

This is great for zapping bugs that are flying around mid air. But because the thick yellow ring around the edge, it's very awkward to swat a bug that's resting on a wall or surface (like a traditional fly swatter). We haven't tried to swat a fly off of a surface because we fear we will break the racket.So, start practicing your aim and you'll be able to wack these mid-air!

The worst product I've ever purchased. It hasn't worked from the moment it arrivedi'ved tried changing the batteries four times without success, including XLR6 alkaline batteries. It's an oversize fly swap. I will never purchase this item again! One star is too generous!

It works as describe, but is not very durable in that it broke after one season.

Useless piece of junk. Ours arrived broken, really flimsy plastic. Pretty sure the handle would have broken anyway if we'd gripped it too hard.
