Bought for an antique armoire and, it looks great, works well and matches the hinges very well!

I bought these for a solid Cherry fold down 4 stage conversion crib/bed/ bedroom set i was building for my daughter, she was expecting her second.. so she asked dad for something old fashioned but contemporary, these worked perfectly. I was looking for something that was "child proof" to a degree, baby's have curious fingers so wanted something stiff and hard to turn. went with the round handle instead of the teardrop, figuring it would be harder for him to grasp.. That being said, I wouldn't recommend these if you have arthritis go with the tear drop style instead, these are stiff and a little hard to grasp..To the technical aspects, with over 20 plus years as a machinist and machining many different types of materials and forgings, these forgings were nice, crisp and clean, the internals including the spring were well made and put together securely, I spritzed a little graphite powder in the guts before assembly as a dry lubricant.. and after reading other people's reviews would suggest, to avoid stripping the heads on these screw's, drill a pilot hole 3/4 the depth, and wax the screw threads with bee's wax before driving in, and also, use the appropriate sized screw driver, snugged down plus a quarter turn will do it.. makes for easier instillation.. just a few pointers, have been making furniture as a hobby for 30 plus years..Would definitely buy these again, especially if my son ever decides to get married and making offspring.. but hope fully not for a couple of years...Hope this review is of help to those thinking to purchase these..

Easy install and beautiful

These are beautifully crafted! So much potential for crafting or adding a unique touch to any refurbished antique furniture or custom project! Heavy in weight, comes with flat head screws, and a few extra which are well oiled in the package for quality. Also packaged separately from screws and other pieces to keep them from scratching on eachother.

This is a very thick, sturdy latch. Perfect for my cabinet and very antique looking. I bought the black one as my cabinet is black. Easy to install. Looks great.

Well made and classic looking.

I have a couple of casement windows in my 1890's house that had chintzy modern latch hardware on them. I bought these and put them on. Nice heavy castings, mechanism works smoothly.Here's the deal: You can't tell by looking that these latches haven't always been there in this house. It requires close examination to tell they aren't original. Excellent reproductions that look authentic!Very pleased.

I love the patina of this lock. I have an antique oak pie safe with doors that won't stay shut. This lock works perfectly and pairs well with the hinges. I'm actually using this pie safe as a linen closet. Now my cats can't get inside to sleep on the towels or sheets.

I used this for a celler door just the job.

Seriously better looking than other cabinet latches with great detailing. They appear to be very high quality. Look great in situ.
