Q: What does this kit do?

Without going into two cycle theory, it is meant to smooth out the pulses of the intake airflow between the intake and exhaust cycles. At idle and at speed, the volume of air flowing through the intake has mass and inertia. When the inflow is stopped briefly during the cycles it rebounds back to the carburettor. This disturbs the air/fuel mixture. The bottle tends to cushion this effect and collects a small amount of the returning air/fuel mixture and then returns it to the inflow of fresh mixture to then enter the combustion chamber and be consumed at the next power stroke.
