Partridge family rules
Vale David Cassidy. The Partridge Family was always so much better than the Brady Bunch. Plus David Cassidy and Susan Day, although playing siblings, always looked like they'd rather be somewhere else making out. with each other. euwww! And Danny and Mr Kincaid one of the best odd couple vaudeville pairings of all time. As for the music, David and Shirley could actually sing, they were supported in studio by the best session musos and engineers in the business, and more often than not they had great song material supplied by some of the best songwriter's for hire. so the albums are not bad either.

A True Partridge Pearl
This Partridge Album was originally released in 1973 as the Partridge Money making machine was grinding to a halt. Unfortunately, here in the States, once the television show was officially cancelled, DJs and the music industry people truly believed that it was time to call it quits on the whole Partridge scene.....WRONG! Thirty four years later there are still some die-hard baby boomers singing along to these great tunes. Sadly, Crossword Puzzle, although thrown together from leftovers from "Notebook" tracks, had some great, more mature sounds han most of their previous material. But Crossword Puzzle and its successor, Bulletin Board, both great albums were shunned and overlooked by the pre-teens who normally snatched up these products with fevered regularity. Some of the stronger, more noteable tunes such as "As Long As There's You", "It Means I'm In Love With You" and C'mon Love" all had hit potential but like other gems from the previous "Notebook" LP were systematically ignored as the producers also went through the motions of ending the show. The last two LPs were never promoted and some baby boomers have told me that they never knew these existed! Sad but true! This artsy LP is worth it even for the pop stature of the LP cover which is a real crossword puzzle featuring superb liner notes by foremost Partridge researcher Lisa Sutton and a reissue on the back cover of the Japanese cover art (US original back cover art is happily intact on the booklet! Great LP, super 70s sound, wonderfully remastered and worth much more than it's retail price. Hopefully the execs at Arista/BMG will find it worthwhile to put the Bulletin Board and other great Cassidy LPs out on CD before us baby boomers are all dead!!!

Worth Buying
I was taking a Partridge Family nostalgia walk and thought I'd add to my collection. Went on Amazon to buy albums/cd's I never had or replaced some that were lost in a flood in my area a few years back. Shopping Bag and the Christmas Card albums were first to arrive. Disappointed at best. Thought Crossword Puzzle would be much of the same, but actually really liked the songs and David's voice sounded great on it. I would recommend to those who want to add to their collection.

Solid album on CD for first time!
"Crossword Puzzle" may not be the best Partridge Family album, but it does sound superb on remastered CD. The highlights include "Sunshine," "It's A Long Way To Heaven," "It Sounds Like You're Saying Hello," "One Day At A Time," and the beautiful "As Long As There's You." Many of the songs sound like they would fit in on the "Notebook" album. A bit bland at times, this album could have been stronger, but the packaging and liner notes are excellent! If you're a fan and like the other PF CDs, you'll like this one as well.

Worth the Wait!
I've been waiting for almost 3 years for this album to be released on CD and I have it and it was worth the wait. It took a couple aof months back in 1973 for me to get the original Lp. The digital remastering is the best yet. Although I know that most of these songs were recorded at the same time as the NOTEBOOK recordings, I can't imagine any of these songs being on NOTEBOOK. They belong together on this album. IT'S A LONG WAY TO HEAVEN is far the most surperior song on the album. That track, as wellas NOW THAT YOU GOT ME WHERE YOU WANT ME and LET YOUR LOVE GO were never peformed on the tv show. NOw, all I need is BULLENTIN BOARD and my PF collection will be complete. How about it, BMG?

the best song
Great CD of some of the later, less recognizable Partridge Family songs. I wanted this disc just to have "As Long as There's You" - my favorite PF song.
