Connelly has become pretty predictable
Formulaic but decent enough for a five-hour drive.

Book is a disappointment
I'm a Connelly fan for many years, and have most of his books on CD. This book is a huge disappointment. Very short length, more a short story than a novel. I felt it was a contrived plot, way too many loose ends. If Bosch and Ballard are to work together, they need to be given equal respect. Otherwise, keep them separate. Bosch and Haller together work fine, Bosch and Ballard don't. I feel that Bosch was added to Ballard because she doesn't have credibility alone. My oldest son is a Detective 1st Grade on the NYPD. I told him about this book and it's plot, and said that just wouldn't be the case, pun intended, in real life.
