Easy to use. Just pour the stuff in the container tray and your ready to go. Water collects in the bottom of the container. I use it in the basement. Works well for me.

Our walk-in master closet is very humid for some reason. Mold was starting to grow on our shoes and some clothing :( Placed one of these DampRid tubs in the closet and it has been sucking up moisture :) Now the air feels much less humid in the closet. Highly recommended.Not sure why others claim the product doesn't work - either the humidity level is very, very low so there isn't much moisture to be extracted from the air, or maybe they didn't take the crystals out of the bag? Given that the mechanism of action is a chemical reaction between the crystals and the water vapor in the air, it can't not work if used as directed.

So there are certain architects and home designers who thought putting the master closet INSIDE the master bathroom was a wonderful idea, and there is a special place in hell for those geniuses. The closet (even if you keep the door closed all the time) still gets a high degree of dampness inside it, and eventually, a mildew-y smell which also gets in your clothes. It may take 25 years, but trust me, it will happen once the house gets old enough and that bathroom gets filled up with steam enough times. I placed this on a shelf and within a couple of days the smell was gone. I re-laundered some of the smellier items (even though they'd also seemed to stop smelling once the Damp-Rid was put in) and put them back, and two weeks later they still smell fresh. I'll be buying refills when it's time to do so. This has been a lifesaver, since we won't be re-constructing our whole house to get our clothes closet somewhere dry, like in the bedroom.

I use DampRid extensively. It is in my gun safe, it is in my camera cabinet, and I even keep it in my lens case. It just works, and there is NO QUESTION it is pulling water from the air. I know some use it to control room humidity, but I use it is a more focused way. This particular refillable absorber is small, and refillable. It fits well in my gun safe and in my camera cabinet. It is VERY easy to use. I couldn't be happier.

We’ve used these for years to combat moisture in closets. We were happy to find these on Amazon in the fragrance free variety.

One wall of our lakeside cabin is built into the hill. We always had mildew problems on that wall until a friend recommended DampRid. 3 containers of DampRid at the foot of that totally solved the problem. Every six months we replace those containers. Chemistry in action!!

These work great, but the last ones I ordered on Amazon the crystals appeared to have already been exposed to moisture as they were one big clump. So they are unusable. However, I can’t request a return because I didn’t realize it until opening one of the bags. Therefore, I do recommend the product, but might be better to order in store.
