This sling is made of a good quality sturdy fabric. I didn't find the fabric too harsh, and in fact it felt quite pleasant to my skin. The color was very pastel purple, more with a grayish undertone. From the pictures I expected it to be more bright purple but in reality it is a dull dirty gray-purple. Still looks ok, just not great. I bought this for a newborn and she did great in it. It was relatively easy to learn to wear the baby and she felt safe in it. However breastfeeding wasn't as easy as it is described and shown in the educational videos. I found it hard to position her properly and securely to feed. When I did so, I still used my hand to support her from the bottom or the side as otherwise it looked like she might have fallen out of it. If I tightened it more there was a risk of her not breathing properly due to her nose hitting the boob (even though I'm relatively small chested) so I didn't do that. Maybe it's just me I don't know, but I really wanted free hands while the baby breastfeeds to take care of my two older kids, and I wasn't able to achieve that in a few weeks of trying. It works great for wearing a baby though. Also the sling is very easy to wash and dry. Overall, it is a good purchase but I don't recommend getting your hopes too high about the hands free breastfeeding. Also mind the colors, if you want a brighter purple I recommend you get another one.
