Savannah Smiles

What a fun family movie. We sure loved re watching this show. It is a reminder to play with your kiddos and enjoy spending time with them.

Watched this with my kids 9-15. They loved it, and it gave us an opportunity to talk about many things, including not judging people and the importance of family!

The part where she murders everyone in the meth lab is chilling.

I really wish I could find this to buy in hand. If your child hasn’t seen this, it’s a must see for the whole family.

I grew up with Savannah Smiles. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid, right up there with Annie and Shirley Temple movies. It's a feel good movie set in a time when things were a little simpler, a little more cut and dry, but offers us a little bit of everything you could want in a good family movie: a few laughs, a few tears, a little bit of sadness, but above all else: a whole lot of smiles and love.

I loved this movie when i was a kid and rewatching it was just as good.

Like a lost well-loved worn out cuddly toy from childhood, you still smile with fondness when you see it once again. This is the original movie. Same super-cute sweetie, same bumbling but endearing crooks, same everything.It looks like the one who put this out for instant video had a copy of the original VHS or reel and used it to make this one. And I sure am glad he did. This may be grainy. It may have lost some of its color, but it's not garbled or faded too terribly. I suppose if you put this instant video on a big HD flat screen then you'd be seeing pixels, but I just watched it on my iPad and it's just fine for me. See screenshots I added. When I first saw it, I watched it on a 20" TV. It would still look fine on a smaller flat screen. I have yet to watch it on my big plasma. I may add to this when I have,but my opinion will be the same. If you find a home video that's seen better days, would you love it any less if it lost a bit of color or became a bit grainy?If you're an HD MOVIE-viewer, please don't rate this poorly on that scale. You wouldn't rate the "stereo" quality of a gramophone disc based on the sound you get from an MP3. Instead, view it as you would an old friend you haven't seen in 30 or so years. There's some wear there, but it's the same old friend inside. (And you're no Burt Reynolds or Farrah Fawcett yourself anymore, anyway.)As for me, it still makes me smile. I'm grateful to take it exactly as it is.

Great movie!

What's not to like about old films these days? Sure it's not as fantastic as what we're used to now, but it's still good.

wanted to buy this for my daughter a few years ago but as its region 1 it would not play on our DVD, she is now married her husband is a techno guy and he will match up the computer so that she can watch it. she has two little girls of her own,so hopefully they will love it as much as she did.

This is a great family story - a little girl who runs away and is accidentally kidnapped by one dangerous and one incompetent criminal. Lots of 'awww' moments. Also nostalgic for those of us who grew up on movies from the 80's.

a good family film copied from vhs onto dvd, saw this film years ago and on a whim purchased it to watch again, lent it to my niece aged 16 who enjoyed it as well, warning though bit of a sad ending
