I love, love it!My goal in life has always been to be able to write straight without lines. Sure, I can, and have, used a light box to shine lines through... that works great for paper and some cardstock, but not so much for opaque items like canvas or tiles. This is PERFECT for that! It really is a brilliant design.Pros:- does exactly what it is designed to do- allows you to set the line at an angle- allows for easily making sure it is exactly straight- I love the clip at the top to secure your itemCons: (wishes really)- I WISH there was a quick/easy way to control line spacing. Yes, there is a ruler on the right side and that should be plenty enough, but I have to think with every line. An actual light grid on the board would be awesome.- I WISH there was a way to lock the laser in place. I use the board as a "table" for drawing in my lap and the laser moves so easily that it flops back and forth...I just wish there was more friction so that it wouldn't move so easily.Again, both cons are things I WISH they would add, they in NO WAY are negatives towards to true intent of the product...it does EXACTLY what is is designed to do, my wishes are for things they don't claim it will do.I would definitely buy it again.

It's helpful to keep my lines straight with my calligraphy work, but it is little flimsy.The light isn't as bright as I wanted it to be, but if I dim my studio I can see enough.

Genius tool. Worked so well for lettering wedding invitations and saved much time. The red slider adjusts easily so you can quickly move your line, but it would be even better if that piece could lock into position- so it won't move so freely when you don't want it to!

This items has indeed been helpful in writing handwritten notes and letters without using lined papers. That is the purpose of this gadget, and it works quite well. My husband, however, is left-handed, and the only way we could make this work for him is to turn it upside down and use a large clip to hold the paper in place. It works and serves the same purpose for both of us. I would recommend it for either right or left-handed people as long as they realize that a bit of maneuvering has to be done to accommodate a left-handed person.

I returned the item right away. It seemed less sturdy that I expected and the sliding guide doesn't lock into place which is a design flaw in my opinion.

I gave this as a gift to a ten-year-old who is very precise about things and spend a lot of time at her drafting table (I see a future architect). She was delighted.

Great tool! Now I want one that has TWO lights! One for my writing line and one for my letter height!

There could be more locking points for the laser alignment but for general roughing in of letters it works well.
