Q: What is this flat lid used for? Just chopping?

You can do anything with this lid except use the accessory blade discs. For me, it's a space saver. I hate lugging out the large cover with the chute because I rarely use the standard chopping blade. There is a hole in the center of the flat lid so you can drizzle liquids (oil, water, etc.) or drop small solids (butter, garlic, etc.) while the blade is running. The only drawbacks to the lid is that the sticker wouldn't come off mine, but without the sticker, it's hard to tell the front from the back of the lid.

Q: Can this lid work on a cuisinart dfp-14 (14 cup)? if not, does anyone know if there is a compact flat lid that would?

This did not fit my 14 cup. It was too small. I haven’t been able to find one yet and I returned this one a year ago.

Q: Will it fit a custom 11 dlc-8m?
