I’ve used the extension cord 3 times to charge my Tesla Model 3. This was plugged into a 120v 12amp socket in the lower level of a garage, currently at 50 degrees F. This 10 gauge cord should have been overkill. I specifically chose this cord because of the “heavy duty” specification. Look at the plug, it clearly got too hot and started to melt. Thankfully it did not catch fire. Of course I am outside the return window and have just wasted this money instead of buying another one.Don’t purchase this is you value safety. This could have burned down the car and building!!

When UPS handed these (I bought two of them) to me I was caught off guard by the weight- what's this I thought doing a quick inventory of what I had coming but I had to open the box to realize it was my 50' extensioncords. These things are heavy and well insulated but there's no missing the main reason-Copper. lots and lots of it.I Will do some non scientific experiments and report back here with my findings but I strongly suspect these are way under rated at a claimed 15 amps. I've got a little inverter stick welder that absolutely refuses to behave if it isn't fed 20 amps so it will be easy to tell an additional 50' from shore power.

I thought this extra heavy wire might make a difference in the performance of my electric heater and it did. And neither the outlet or the male plug get hot anymore.j

I bought this to charge my EV car and it works great! It charges at 115V & 12A (roughly 1.4 kW) without heating up at all.

This is how all 10 gauge 15 amp extension cords should be made. Extremely well made extension cord.

When the box arrived I couldn't for the life of me guess what was in there, it was so heavy. Imagine my surprise when I opened it to find an extension cord. Excited, finally I can bring the lamp closer to the couch so I can read in the evenings without turning the overhead lights on. Not so much...hubby took one look at it and claimed it was his for the weed wacker and goodness knows what other tools.We are in CA and it's easier to just buy electrical yard tools then deal with all the restrictions on gas powered. Two stroke, some other strokes, I don't know I only kind of was listening. Also, apparently the plug in tools pull a ton of power and his old extension cord wasn't enough. There were more words, but gist was...science science science I'm taking the new extension cord more science, blah blah blah you don't need something this heavy duty for a lamp.LAME...
