This is a big bag of baking soda. Not sure what else to say about it except that it is a nice, durable, resealable bag. The baking soda worked well for my pool and I can store it, air tight for the next time. BTW, 12 lbs is a lot of baking soda but when you put it into the pool 4 lbs at a time, it is MUCH cheaper than trying to buy boxes at the grocery store. It's a natural alkaline substance with a pH of 8 (pretty much perfectly neutral) that can help balance pH and alkalinity. It can also help with improving clarity (which is why I bought it), and improve carbonate levels. I've been fighting green water since I opened the pool this year and this really helped get it back to being clear - and, I think - keeping it clear.From what I've read, it is recommended to use baking soda in your pool if the alkalinity of your water is too low. It should ideally be between 100 and 120 ppm. If it is less than that you can add one pound to every 10,000 gallons of water to increase it by 10 ppm. It can take up to six hours for the baking soda to fully dissolve, but you can speed up the process by turning on the pool's circulation system. Doing this should also help to stabilize the pH of the water so be sure to let the baking soda cycle through before trying to adjust the pH, then retest to see the new pH level. Keeping pH and alkalinity in balance helps chlorine do it's job and keeps your family safe.Using baking soda is a lot cheaper than using some of the alkalinity increasers on the market and is just as effective.

I constantly use baking soda for soothing my dog's paws when he takes a bath since he's so sensitive and has bad allergies. This brand works so well and can be used in many different ways!

It's soda! What is there to say? I keep a bag on the porch and sprinkle it on ice and snow on our steps and pathways. It works better and is safer than the bags of salts they sell for walkways. You get a grip instead of having it roll under your feet. You still must be careful, of course, but i've used it for 5 years like that and it works. I haven't had a fall since. I keep a bag in the truck in winter in case i get stuck. Just sprinkle in front and back of your tires and it gave me enough grip to get going again, but i wasn't dug into a snowbank or hole.

Excellent price for 12 lbs and the hefty bag it comes in re-sealed well. It was as fresh as any I've ever purchased. I'd buy it again.
