Works well for a great price
* The display is clearly visible and easy to read* The thermometer is more than accurate enough for most uses* There's a tiny switch inside the back cover to switch the thermometer between F and C* It quickly response to temperature changes and has a high polling rate. I've tested it from <-10F to >100F without problems.

Junk
Unit powers up and gives digital read out. Unfortunately, that temperature read out never changes, no matter how much heat or cold is applied to the sensor.

Works great. A little confusing to set up but I figured it out. Would prefer it said 'Inside' and 'outside' instead of CH1 or CH2, but that's pretty minor.

Good luck!
This thing has a mind of it's own!Experimenting with the micro switches (and they are micro!) to go from °C to °Fand displaying either one channel or alternating dual channel displays.....nothing made any sense.Perhaps I'm an idiot......but this thing changes every few days from one channel to the other andfrom displaying °C to °F all on it's own. Someone else said it.....you get what you pay for.

Three Stars
The part keeps switching from F to C intermittently, other than that OK.

Nice little meter with a thoughtful design
Nice little meter with a thoughtful design. Input voltage is reverse polarity transient protected and takes 9V to 24V in but it operates down to 6V without a problem (The display flickers with input fluctuations below 7V in). DIP switches are not documented anywhere I could find so I twiddled with it until it started reading Celsius. It comes with one probe but can read two with a scan switch setting, see the schematic below for all of the switch options.Schematic is here: http://ppl.ug/e1MlH2Y2LOQ/. It uses a PIC16F690 with the programming interface brought out to a row of pads which makes this a nice target to program your own code. These are cheap enough that it makes more sense to buy them and re-program them than to build your own from scratch!!!

CHEAP JUNK
What a piece of crap. NO instructions. 2 sensors and no way to switch between them. No way to calibrate the temp which is off. Do NOT BUY

Ok for the price
I read up on all the versions of this product and settled for the 2 channel external probes versions. I chose this because I wasn't sure if the internal probe would be in an ideal location once mounted. The application is in a 2012 Honda Ridgeline. I was able to route one probe to the front bumper through the firewall with some length to spare. I was able to mount it in the same location as Honda's temperature probe.I have it displaying both temperatures (inside and outside). The display change rate is adequate but I can see where this would be annoying to some. I have mounted it low in the center dash area therefore the larger red LEDs are easy to read and the display changes are not as obvious as they are generally out of your line of vision. The only thing I have notice is the display will change temperature units if there is noise on the power line. This might be due to my temporary installation using a DC jack. The display return to the set units by simply cycling power (unplug/plug the jack).
