Every door in my house has a Schlage door KNOB... except the door to my computer room which has this Schlage passage LEVER. People who visit my house seem to think that the hardware store ran out of knobs on the day I showed up. As a matter of fact, my computer room never even had a door on it until I installed one over a year ago. I knew very well exactly what kind of hardware I wanted on that door---and an ordinary knob would not do at all. You see, I like to snack while I'm at the computer---and not just one or two snacks. Actually I am constantly walking back and forth from the kitchen---carrying plates, bags, cups of coffee, sandwiches---whole armfuls of the stuff. A lever makes the door easy to open when your hands are full.The Schlage lever has a nice solid feel to it. It is functional in a way that no knob can ever be. It's very classy looking and just a bit unusual.The only way I could downgrade this review to four stars would be to penalize Schlage for not providing a footman to open the door as I approach---arms full with my latest Dagwood sandwich creation, but the honest truth is: you don't really need a footman when you have this lever type passage set----you can open the door all by yourself regardless of how much you're carrying. (Bad news for the staff at Downton Abbey.) This is a nicely thought out product which will improve the appearance of anyone's mansion.And yes, it's difficult imagining Lord Grantham fetching his own Dagwood sandwich and using his elbow to open this lever passage set.

While waiting for a friend to install three pairs of levers, I decided to try it myself. I DID IT! I am 80 years old and I did it. The hardest part was removing the old knobs, each of which had a different problem that prevented easy removal. I had to figure out and solve the problem before installing the levers. After I installed the first one I noted that the lever was in the wrong position. I easily took the apparatus apart and corrected it. Please note that my levers did not contain the lock, which greatly simplifies the replacement Levers make opening doors so much easier. I wish I had done this years ago. I highly recommend this product and you CAN do it yourself.

This beautiful door lever/knob installs in just a few minutes. It fits right, looks great, and feels solid when installed. Comes with complete instructions and everything you need to replace your old, round knobs. Lever is great for those who have trouble with gripping round door knobs (geezers, arthritics, handycapable). Note: This is an interior fixture only. It has no lock on either side.

I have older sets that and needed to replace one (thanks to my cleaver Doberman who opened the door creatively). The concern was that the new one would not match - this matched the others in the house perfectly and I love that the handles are reversible (the older style ones are not). Installation and reversing the handle direction is super easy!

Love the style and color

I like the product and it’s look. Unfortunately, Amazon only sold the right handle and did not carry the left . Only after I paid handyman was I made aware of situation. When I called Amazon, I was told that was all they carried. Had to go on line to find left handle.

I was thrilled to find that this style passage lock was still available. I originally purchased all new door hardware 25 years ago when we bought our house. I used this passage set on our front door so it got a lot of use in 25 years. It wasn’t broke but the finish was severely tarnished and the handles were some what loose. Of the 6 passage locks and two deadbolts the front door is the only one I felt compelled to replace due to age and wear. That says a lot about the Schlage products!

Our local hardware store discontinued these handles. These handles match all the other handles we have in the house. They look great on our white painted doors .
